Every time I get a text or call first off on CL its a scam. I am loving the condition of your item please take down the add and consider it sold. I will be sending you an extra 50 dollars bla bla bla. I give them a fake address and name and waste their time and money sending a fake check. Any other ways I can mess with them?

Welcome here.

Are you using your own email address to mess with the scammers? If so, stop it. Make a new account, create a fake personality, based in a city far from yourself and not related to your private life in any way.
From that point on you can let your imagination run free and frustrate them in any way you can think of. (I don't bait on craigslist)
And consider signing up for a mentor. They can help you come up with great ideas and help you to learn how to bait safely.

Thanks. I created a new email with gmail that will forward to my main address. I never us my own address. I used to live in Florida and there was an abandoned home across from me, I use that address.

Personally I wouldn't do that. My baiting address is only linked to another baiting address. Not to my private email. Why? If my baiting account will get hacked.... could happen, you're dealing with criminals and hopefully making them really angry and frustrated, they are able to see your personal email address.
The abandoned house... Are you sure it is still abandoned and you're not pointing scammers in the direction of a new family that might be living there? My baiting character lives at an address that points to an empty patch of dirt alongside a road, close to suburbia. No scammer ever called me out on it, but when they do, I'll just tell them that google's sattelites didn't yet pick up on the new appartment building that's located there now.

Great that you are working Craigslist. It has gotten REALLY bad there. 80% of the posts are scams. Crazy!

Quick tips:

- Phone number that is completely fake and unattached to any of your personal numbers

- Address that is not attached to a real home where people live

- Email that you have never used in any other context except for baiting forwarded to another email that you have never used except for baiting. Do not use it for anything else.

- Fake name with some humor. I used to use Haywood Jablowme. Never called out once. Can't post the name I use now just in case

- Respond slowly. Take your time and when you respond act like you will send them the money - keep em excited. They are greedy

- Mentors are great. If you have time get one and follow their directions. They will teach you a number of things

*The item does not exist. The genus name is a computer manufacturer, but the species name is not a model of computer. If you're baiting someone who answered one of your ads, the item your baiting character talks about MUST NOT be the same as in the real ad, and should be nonexistent.

*The address does not exist. There are things named Arundel in Maryland, but a street in Deal Island is not one of them.

Even if the house is abandoned, it belongs to someone and the scammer could still cause issues for that ITP. Make up a totally non-existent address.
