I am 99% I am being scammed. He is in Afghanistan. US Army. Contacted me thru "suggestions" on fb. I realized we had 1 mutual friend. After she disappeared off his Facebook page, I contacted her to see if there was a problem. She sent me an email, and copies of messages from messenger. The email was exactly the same as mine. He hasn't asked me for money. I told him I have none and would never send someone money. Just because of my nature, and before I found this website, I jumped him about it. Blah blah blah. "Not me" then admitted to talking to my friend, but still says he never asked for $$ to be sent thru a mentor. He has professed his love to me, and is getting out in March. I am playing along right now so I can investigate more. I did video chat with him, and it is pictures of him he is using. My volume would not connect, so it was cut short. Where is the place I can look for photos of others to see if he is on there?

If this guy is using the same words on different people, he's a lad. If you can see strong similarities between the grammar and wrong words you can see here and what this person is using, he's a lad.

You an use Google's reverse image search and you might get some hits but you might not. A better approach would be to check on scamwarners.com.

What you are doing is baiting this person with profiles, etc. that are tied to your personal info. This is bad. Make no mistake that, in all likelihood, you are exposed to a criminal right now. If you want to string him along (aka bait him), you need to cut him off from anything related to your real life and use accounts/profiles that are not linked to your real life.

From what you posted, this is a scam being run most likely by dirtbag in West Africa. they send the same scripts to multiple victims and use photos and video loops stolen from the internet.

Two things-stop all contact with the scammer-you are talking with a criminal who has your real life information. Block him on FB and on skype as well as your email. Talking to him further won't get you any additional information.

At least I was smart enough to to make yahoo email. I also used a mail tracker. I tried different ones, unto this morning it came back Nigeria. I changed all my email I use for my things. They are charmers. The thing that is confusing me is that I had video chat with him. It didn't last long because there was too much static in the voice. He was the same person as in his pictures. He has sent me multiple pictures. I am out to stop him. I think I have enough info right now for someone to trace him. Thank you for the help.

Hi Candlebox, welcome!!

Regarding to video chat, scammers have some photo abuse victim's chat video too and they use trick to show they are same person in the photo and real to the victim.

If you go to threads on Scamwarners reporting same photo, I think some reports also states that the scammer use video chat trick.

No, I'm sorry, but you don't - all you have is a few stolen photos and video, and an IP address in Nigeria.

And even if you do "trace" him, what do you plan on doing?

As Capone said, stop all contact with him, block him and then get on with your life.
