Facebook lad, Mark Kaka claims as British and working at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Unfortunately, he captured Imelda who claims to be from Borneo but lives in Hong Kong now. His info is here.

I guess he does not know local info, hahaha. His favorite local foods are unlikely to be like preferred foods by expats in Borneo. Probably he could have been to Kuala Lumpur but not Sabah.

I am from Sibu and brought up in Kuching but my parents choose KL to spend their rest of life there. So my parents' home in KL now, at Cheras. I work in Hong Kong since last year. I am intended to stay here longer because pay is good over here for electrical engineer works. My Mum is Chinese and Dad is native. But my identity is more like Chinese than Dayak. I love Chinese culture and I read and write and speak Mandarin.
How's your life there in KK? You stay in a house or condo? What's your favorite local foods? You should try S'wak laksa and kolo mee. Very nice.

I see, so you like nasi campur, with beef. But you should also try leicha. At first, you think bad taste. But when you get used to the taste, it's very nice and good for health. Just RM3 or so. Do you eat Durian?

Well, I have older brother in Australia and younger sister in Taiwan, we all stay overseas. My parents often travel abroad and meet with one of us.

My parents are at early 70s. They are very well and likes travelling around.

My work is fine, I am an engineer, and I use MTR to commute.

How about you? Do you drive car? Which shopping mall do you usually go to?

The only thing that I can say which will define Malaysian English is probably the constant usage of the word 'lah'.

Example :

How to go there lah ??
I just ate lah.

Glad to know you like Leicha. Try Kacangma Chicken next. It's bitter but good for health. My Mum cooks very well.

Yes I have been to Suria Shopping mall. Really good for killing time with friends, just hang out there.

I do not have boy friend, but I have male friends here in Hong Kong. Chinese guys here are very nice, they are good at cooking. I do not cook and I do not do any chores, so very convenient.

If you have chance to go to KL, please let me know. My parents may be happy to see foreigners visiting them.

Well, I seldom go back to Malaysia, usually during Chinese New Year. My Dad is Dayak, he goes back to Kampung during Gawai. I usually do not follow him there for Gawai. So I do not take days off for Gawai.

Yes, I do not have specific boy friend as I am not really thinking of marriage or something, I have sufficient incomes and no need my life to be supported by men. But I do have close friend, he is local Hong Kong Chinese here, my colleague. His name is Vic Chou, IT engineer. He is open minded and modern thinking person, Atheist and believes in gender equality. So I feel very comfortable with him than conservative and religious people.

How about you? Do you have steady? If not, let me introduce someone there in KK, can or not? Can?? Because my friend there in KK teaches at college there, and I am sure she knows someone there you can meet face to face. Can? Let me know your preference.

How was your weekends? Tomb day, I did not go back to Malaysia but had meal at my friend's place. Vic joined us too. We had nice time.
