Just finished watching a BBC programme remembering the events on the day of Winston Churchill's funeral, fifty years ago. I was a young cop in London then, but sadly I have no stories to tell of that day, except that I spent it languishing in my little Police flat in the East End of London, watching with my wife on a black-and-white TV, cursing my luck that I couldn't be there on duty with just about every other Policeman in London. Some weeks before, I had injured my back and was on sick leave. Crying or Very sad
