Hi everybody.

I have a buddy, his sister was caught up in a online romance, it was ongoing for some 3 months. Very involved scam. Good background, strong pitch for the first transaction. Fortunately my buddy was in touch with his sister and asked me to look at the matter. I work for the elderly as a nurse and( financial manager in part) one of my duties it to protect them from this kind of scum. After reading the correspondence for about 3 min I knew it was a scam. I skipped to the end at that point were he is in Africa, and his camera is broken and he dose not have the right kind of travelers checks and needs 250$ sent by western union. That was the hook, now he is going to ask and ask and ask and sell her info to dozens of other scam scum.
He was thinking I could take over the conversation or interrupt as a fellow scammer and warn him off or something. I suggested that she contact a IT specialist and scrub her electronic life. Change out her email, Facebook, and any place on the internet were she has contact info. And then start a new e-life. The problem is these lads are ruthless cyberstalkers. I told him that it would be unethical and potentially dangerous to play something on this lad with anything that attached to her real life. He has all her REAL INFO. That makes it a no go right there. I will try to redact the messages and post the conversation maybe somebody has bated him?
If we can hunt him down I want him tattooed, and safaried and I want to email the whole exchange pictures, and audio, too my buddies sister. The look on her face when she realized she was taken was painful to behold. He broke her hart, and that broke mine. Maybe that is part of why I am hear. Also I like the idea of owning my own shadow, and putting it to work for the grater good. And having some fun along the way.

I am sorry about your friend's sister. Hopefully she'd completely detached from this scum-they take so much more than money, including their victims trust and self-respect. Completely changing her on line profile and changing her phone number is a great idea so that she'll avoid the harassment and the frequent recovery scams that follow.

If you can post headers, scam emails and the scammer's email address, I'm sure people around here can keep him busy even if there's no way to recover the victim's money.

You may want to direct her to oour sister site, Scam Warners. they are experts on helping out victims.

I am so sorry your friend was scammed. Capone is right, visit our sister site Scam Warner's and they will help you post all the information on this piece of crap to warn others. They will also help your friend get through this. Although it's a pain to change all her emails, FB and other social media where her personal info is posted, in the long run it will keep this scammer away and all other types of scams they try and do after the victims have realize they have been scammed.

You're a good friend to help her get through this.
