I really am sincerely sorry that you were stolen from, but trying to bait the same person who stole from you is never, ever a good idea.

Please listen to the wise words of my colleague, Snerd. I'm sure some of our specialists in Romance Scams will weigh in soon, but the bottom line is that baiting requires objectivity, and that is very, very hard to do when you are dealing with the totally understandable and normal feelings of betrayal, loss, and anger.

I'm sure some baiters here would be glad to give the scumbag who scammed you some very special attention. I would urge you to share your story at our sister site, www.scamwarners.com, and perhaps share the information with some of our experienced baiters in the Love / Dating forum. We love giving such lads very special attention so you can sit back and watch the activity without risking your own emotional involvement.

thank you for your reply. I did share my story with Scamwarners.com. and told them my story. Volunteering for this forum will help me release the anger and resentment I am feeling now and it may help others. The person who scammed me is Ben Stiller and he has quite a record.

^ What TS and Juan said in spades. Right now, you need to concentrate on you and not on your scammer and not on lads. Maybe later if you feel so inclined but NEVER on your own lad.

First off right now you are too emotionally tied up into this to go at it properly. There is only one way to bait: cold and calculating. It requires a level head and is almost like a chess game. When you have been emotionally compromised in something like a romance scam, you have a lot running through your head initially and it is far from on the level. Even years down the road, the scars can run deep enough to drag up old feelings which may in turn cause you not to bait with a level head.

Throw on the fact that this scammer is #1 a criminal AND #2 knows who you are. Now he may not be dangerous but then again you never know about some of these types:

^ He may just be that type though. So this really is a dangerous game when you have gone through what you have gone through (it is hard for anyone to be cold, calculating, level headed, and safe after what is a traumatic situation).

Concentrate on you and dealing with the hurt first. There are plenty of people around here/scamwarners to help. Some of them even have first hand experience of being victims.

In the mean time I will send the lad some loving.

You've been given the above advice in the Romance forum from other members ma'am.

You might want to consider getting some help from a professional that is local to you...don't let what this asshole did consume you.

We do care...but we are only an online community that can't take the place of someone that is trained to help you deal with your grief.
