Was driving through the city center yesterday morning. There was a taxi in front of me. My Staffie X thought I'd gone mad because I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the license plate on the taxi. Was TX419. Just hope the driver realized the significance of the license plates.

It's difficult sometimes to explain 419 and baiting to others. If you even told them what 419 is, baiting they just don't understand. I don't send my friends here because it's my guilty obsession...er hobby. Razz

When I was in high school personalized license plates first became available in my (US) state. A teenager in my town got the plate "IBONG". Not sure if he ever figured out why the police were always following him.

I had a friend who owned a Mazda 626. His brilliant idea was to get the plate "MZD 626". The only problem? Our state issued non personalized plates with 3 letters followed by 3 numbers. This meant someone may have been issued that plate at random.

Several years ago, I used to see the same car every morning going to work with the license plates "TI 3VOM". If you were behind the car, the plate made no sense. However, if that car was behind you, you saw MOVE IT in your rear view mirror.

I see a lot of personalized plates, and 99 percent of the time I have no idea what they are supposed to mean.

Wasn't there a game show here in the U.S years ago (like 20 or 30 years ago) that was similar to interpreting the plates. Not the plates themselves, but they'd show you some letters and numbers in a row, and you had to figure out what it meant.
