I'm an avid watcher of Storm Chasers on the Discovery Channel, it looks scary enough on T.V.

Then recently I read about Tim Samaras, one of the veteran chasers being killed by a tornado, such a sad loss.

Best wishes to any and every person in those areas. It looks horrid on the news and that is only a small portion of what happened.

EF4 through Illinois did a lot of damage. 6 persons passed in its wake.

Rain, Hail, & flickering lights here in SW Lower Michigan. Made it a PITA to do my E-mails last evening but I did the job and signed off. I know of no bad damage here in K'town. But there are PPL without power in the area tonight. Glad to have missed it this time around.

Certainly was an interesting weather system to move through this far North, this late in the year.

Mainly a straight line wind event for us in West Michigan, but my thoughts are with those in Peoria and Washington, IL, and anyone else who was affected.

We suffered more damage here from the low pressure winds behind the front than from the actual squall line that moved through. However, the NWS did confirm at least 2 EF0 twisters touched down north of GR.

My thoughts are with everyone affected. A strange system indeed, to be so far north and this late in the year. Here in E. Texas we bounced from 27F low several nights ago to 80F two days later; I suspect the warm Gulf air caused the mayhem?

In any case, so sorry for lives lost and houses leveled. Crying or Very sad
