How can I fight back, she has finally asked me for money

Hi...

I'm new here, and felt that I was going to get scammed, so I just played along with it. I replied to a Match.com add and spent about 14 emails back and forth, and knew something was not right.... So I finally got the email asking for money. What can I do next? here is my last email asking for money.

Can someone search her email "[email protected]" and let me know if there is anything on it. I've googled, it and couldn't find anything.

So what is my next step, or advise to mess with this scammer?

"Ken, I know you understand that I haven't expected such a turn for the worse. I paid them all the money I had for the travel. I have been saving these $2000 for about an year. I also spent a lot of money for the documents legalization. And after making them a payment I have got completely penniless. The only thought keeps my mind is that everything will be all right when I come to the states. I made the round of all my friends and acquaintances. I told them about my situation and asked to loan some money to me. My request helped me to see the real essence of some of my "so called" friends. Long ago I noticed that true friend is being known in grief not happiness. Some of them was sincerely sympathetic with me, and other just masked their gloat with a force smile. Well, it is not the matter, I just felt so rotten asking them for help.

Sveta gave me $500, she was saving the money for a new furniture and she said that my success would be much better than a new sofa in her flat. A few friends also helped a little. And my parents helped me much too. They gave me all their modest savings, about $1000. I am very grateful to them because after Ilya's death I have been living in their house trying to save up for my travel. With great efforts I could collect $2300 ($1300 from my friends and $1000 from my parents). I tried all resources to gather the money but I still need additional $1400.

Now I want to ask you a favor again. Could you lend that money to me? I need $1400 to complete my travel. I want to borrow this money from you and I will repay it to you as soon as I get my advance from the employer. Please, help me to overcome this difficult. I am so very sorry for making this request. I don't know how to ask for help. I normally wouldn't do it, because I tried to do things myself.

I would never ask you for help under any circumstances but my father insisted on it. We had a talking with him about the situation and he told me that I have two ways. The first way is to abandon my plans, and the second one is to do everything depending on me, just to gain my end. He said: you have a friend and you want to be honest with him, you have a problem you can't solve yourself. Let him know about the circumstances and if he has good intentions and means he would help you to come there. I promised my father to tell you the truth. When I exhausted all possibilities to collect the money here I decide to write you. I know that my request may affect our relationship but I think we are enough mature to talk frankly. I believe it's right way although it is hard.

Ken, please think well about my request. I am very serious about us, I am open and frank to you.
I feel that we are very right for each other and I want us to meet and prove it in reality. We must get this chance to change our life for the better. We are worthy of having happiness. I need your faith and your help to do the last step to new life.

tricky, the first few emails they asked for my phone #, I did give my cell # but nothing else, not my real name or anything else..

I'd drop the scammer right away. You can start with a nice new gmail addy and fake name. Have you signed up for a mentor yet?

Welcome flyingkevo! Like Ginger said, drop him! (yes, it's a him) Ask for a mentor and read and read and read. The HH&T (help, hints & tips) is a great place to ask questions. It's behind the login and not searchable by search engines. I would edit the email addy in your post in case your vlad searches his email.

Ever notice that the vlads always equate money to manhood? The "if you're a man you would do this" is really disturbing. This one uses "... if he has good intentions and means he would help you to come there." So, if you have the means, yet do not help, that's means you don't have good intentions. They're very subtle in their phrasing, but I catch it every time.

Hi Flyingkevo,
Drop the scammer ASAp. Match has a block function and you can use that. The problem is the scammer has been communicating with the profile you've used for real life, which probably has your photos and some biographical info.

Welcome to the forums-there's lots of information in the stickies and EaterU about setting up fake accounts and profiles to mess with scammers. I can pretty much guarantee that the scammer paid for his (and it is a guy) with a stolen credit card and most likely the profile has vanished. If you have the email, you can start baiting him from your new accounts.

Mentors can help with safe baiting, direction and techniques on how to deal with scammers and when you get stuck.

I have some updates about my travel and I'd like to share it with you.
Today I've got some papers from my agent and tomorrow morning I will go to the Moscow. I will have an interview in the US embassy and get my visa. Then I will have to visit the agency office and receive all travel and employment documents there. My visa will be good for two years. And my agent told me that I can easily prolong it if I have a job in the USA or get married. And after 5 years living there I will become an US citizen, what is my permanent purpose. Wink

David, I learnt that I would be doing about $90 thousands a year in the USA. Wow! This is a crazy vast sum of money for me. Wink

Moreover, I will receive $5000 as an advance to get settled in the new place. I think I can start my life smoothly with this money. What do you think?

I feel so happy to be a member of this international program. Do you know that I paid just $1200 for my participation. I have a contract with Zagrantur employment agency and they are doing all papers for me. All traveling expenses are paid by employer. They are concerned to get the best specialist from other countries for lesser money. I am lucky I passed their tests and they took me into the program.

I didn't see it coming as I was on Match.com.... I have met several beauties on there in real life so a really pretty girl interested in me was not a huge shocker.

Did you see the phone number they provided in the email? Probably a throw away- I spoke to the Guy at the "agency" in NY- He said her Job was waiting for her.... how can I post Images here of the pics VLAD sent?

By The way I got the EXACT same email as the first post - Needing the $1400 that is when my suspicions were confirmed- I have been playing with the Vlad for about a week now and have the scammers a bit confused been going Hot and Cold on them.... and asking Zlata to call it always comes in unavailable- The money asked for needs to be sent to Lilya Cniga in Moscow at anopther Agency via western union- Of course I am not sending any.... The Visa provided by them is an excellent photoshop I have real Visas and compared them...

Any suggestions??

Drop all contact at once, go to scamwarners.com. You can post all his info there so as to warn any potential victims. Vlads don't generally pester you once you've dropped contact.

Sorry you had to 'meet' a scammer. I am happy you recognized this as a scam and didn't send money.

Regarding posting pictures, scamwarners.com works but I would as that you use the "stolen" watermark on them.

^Sorry to say they can't do anything since this scammer is not in the US. That phone number belongs to either a partner in crime or a mule.

You may get emails from scammers claiming to be part of a crime investigation. They will ask for money.

No, I have not visited the site yet. I actually placed the call to the state department and spoke with the guy in from the Dept of state so i am safe there, I bet you are correct about the number but it's worth a try...
