This one started very promising, the money topic was already brought up when we exchanged the first few sentences on Tagged. Let's see....
his profile name is Michael from Florida, but of course he is in Afghanistan right now. A strange phenomenon somehow, all the female scammers seem to be nurses, and many of the males seem to be in Afghanistan. Well, hopefully none of the Afghanistan guys will ever need a nurse, they just don't seem to be in the same place Smile

His name is Michael, though his Mail addy is HenryM @ something, I have googled the mail addy with no result, but the profile pic he uses popped up on 2 different scam warning pages.
The guy is in Italics.....

yes..that's what it looked like first, but then there was nothing but silence.
But here we go again... and I guess the flight attendant job will allow many many excuses, as far as a WU or a MG payment is concerned.

Yet I was not that much concerned about your quite impressive career achievements in the past, but more about your present well being.
How's your little boy doing, will you be able to see him for New Year's Eve after you had to miss out Christmas because it wasn't possible for you to send any money out of Afghanistan?
Oh my, I feel so much pity for that kid, being separated from his father, not knowing when there might be a chance for a reunion!
How are you today? Is everything okay?

There is not so much impressive stuff I can tell you about myself. I work as a flight attendant for Lufthansa, and there won't be much time left before my next take-off; I am presently preparing the passenger details for the first boarding call for flight No. LH 1078 to Lyon/France, leaving FFM at 4.45 pm today. I will get back to you as soon as I will have checked in to my hotel at Lyon Airport.

Hello Michael,

my trip was quite fine, we had some turbulences, but nothing serious. I'm in my hotel now, will watch a little bit of TV and then go to bed.
I will have to get up early and get ready for my next flight, I'll be on LH 3265 from Lyon to Duesseldorf at 9.00 am, and from there I will be on LH 2734 to Berlin Tegel. I have no clue where I will from there.
What is the money for, and how much will he need at all? You didn't say that.
And why should I send it to his teacher?Is he staying with her all the time you are away? Don't you have any family there to take care of him?
I'm not sure how to get the money there, I cannot just put it in an envelope and send it by mail, it might be stolen, that happens all the time. Besides, in between two flights I have hardly any time to look for post offices at the airports.
I guess it better wire it, then it will be safe.
Can you please let me have Fiona's bank account details? I could do that online, that would be the quickest way to go.

That is quite a lot of money; it's not that I don't have it, but it's basically all I have, and I had put it aside to pay my dentist's bill which will be due by the end of January.
Are you a 100 % sure that you will be able to pay me back when we meet in person? And when will that be, have you already applied for a vacation? I really need this money badly, or else the dentist will be on my neck, and he can be very grumpy!
I will be in Berlin for another hour, then it will be a longer trip outside of Europe. I am assigned as a purser to a codesharing Star Alliance flight from Frankfurt to Montréal/Canada, it's AC 875, departing today at 1.30 pm, so time is pretty tight once again. For the time of the flight and airport transit I won't be able to communicate.
In Montréal I will have a short break to deal with the jetlag, I will stay in an airport hotel. Tomorrow I will leave Canada again, on a flight to Paris.
Listen, dear Michael, I will definitely not be able to do a Western Union payment, for several reasons.
First I just wouldn't have the time to run around and search a place with WU agency on my hectic airport stops. As you know, there are several routine security checks I will have to pass (and is time-consuming, believe me!), then there is an additional staff security checkpoint.
Second, and that is the more important reason: there is a strict prohibition in the labour contracts of all LUFTHANSA staff to use
such cash transfer systems for security reasons. I don't know why exactly, but I guess it must have something to do with the fact that it must allegedly have been used by terrorists, for money laundring purposes. There is no way around that for me, sorry! Even if I would say I'd do it, I could only use those agents located in an airport, but I would immediately strike everybody's attention because I would show up there in my LUFTHANSA uniform, and they would report me. You surely understand that I cannot jeopardize my job, don't you?

I can understand that Filomena might feel uncomfortable to forwarding her account info to a stranger; so maybe, if that should make her feel better, my bank also offers the service to transfer money into a credit card account. Just ask her what she prefers!

Oh, my thoughts are with your poor little boy! I hope I will meet him too, when we will be together for the first time! Does he look like you? Can you send me a picture?

thank you for the details, I have ordered my bank to wire the amount. My Online banking did not work, the WLan in this hotel is horribly slow, so I just sent them an email. I have wired money from the UK to friends of mine in Sacramento last month, it was my niece's 15th birthday, and she wanted to have a new IPhone. It took almost 2 weeks until the money reached their account. I don't know why it takes that long, probably because the banks just play around, you know, keeping it somewhere and earn the interest rate before they finally release it.
I'm on my way again; there will be a staff meeting at the airport, and then it's off to Paris/France.
In Paris I will have 2 days off, that means I can relax and do a little sightseeing. Have you ever been to Paris? Maybe we should spend our Honeymoon there, what do you think?

So, his son was with a special teacher in California and now he's been transported to West Africa of all places without his permission or knowledge? It's illegal to have a child fly out of the country without a parents consent! How did this happen? Passport? Shots? (it takes time for the malaria shots in order for US citizen to go to Africa)

Yes, and the cash aspect comes on top.
He had to ask me for money for the kid, and now obviously somebody else was able to pay for the flight ticket.
And why would an US Military retiree chose Ghana as a place to stay?
Very strange indeed..... he will have to answer some questions!

Don't forget it's going to take time to recall that money back. It's all you had so it might take a few days to a week or so to get it back. Let's hope it wasn't deposited, but if it was then he can just get the money from the special teacher Razz

I remember quite well having told you that I was flying out of Trudeau Airport yesterday evening for Paris/France, haven't I?
Have you ever heard of the time difference between North America and Europe?
Why do you think almost ALL outbound flights from North America to Europe leave in the evening hours and are night flights?
I have no time for educational lessons here.... just google it, and you will know what I mean. We have still some miles to go, we won't land before 8.55 am CET.
If I will get caught in the pantry, using my notebook, I will be in trouble.
I'm pretty mad at you, and you will get to why instantly!

1. I cannot call the money back. Some more edu required? All right..so here we go: as soon as I have ordered my bank to wire 3.000 $ into Filomena's account and the money left my account, I am no longer the legit owner of that money, and I guess this is pretty obvious.
I cannot call back what has been transferred into the property of a 3rd party, in this case Filomena, simply because it DOES NOT BELONG TO ME anymore!

2. I told you these 3.000 $ are about all the cash I had available... until I followed your infinitely wise request to blow it out to that highly questionable Filomena-teacher-thing.
Another payment won't be possible, it's as simple as that.
So you will have to wait until the money eventually arrives in her account, and then she will have to deal with everything else.
Besides, I have already told you that because of my job with LUFTHANSA any cash transactions with companies like Western Union, Moneygram or chickenshit like that is strictly prohibited for me by contract, and I told you I would never ever risk my job.

3. I do have to state that I consider you a totally irresponsible father. You ask ME for money for William, for Christmas and New Year, and you whine about not being able to send money out of Afghanistan, and yet you did not even know that William was already out of the United States, In Western Africa?
Who authorized the voyage? And who payed for the airline ticket?
Oh my God.... hopefully that stupid Filomena creature took at least care of William's malaria shots. Did you check that out? That poor boy.... let me tell you something: as soon as we are married, you won't be in command any longer, at least not as far as family and housekeeping issues are concerned. You go on playing your war games.... and I will take care of the rest.
