I just listed a place for rent. The first replys seemed ok but with more contact began to smell fishy. I did a bit of checking and found that this person has been doing this for a while. Fortunately, (I think?) I am still in negotiations with 'her'. I just upped the ante on how much she needs to send me in order to get the place. I sent her a cute picture of my pregnant dog thats due anyday. Nice friendly touch don't ya think?
I got a bit of a mean streak when someome lies to me and tries to cheat me. Any advice? |

The first response to my add was on the 3rd. E-mails back and forth since then. She is hooked. I don't plan to deposit anything I receive. I have been in touch with authorites.
I have withheld the personal info requested until I figure out my next move. |

If you're sure you've got a scammer on the end of the line, your next step is just to tell them where to get off. That's all you need to do.
There's no point trying to do anything else and if they have your details, it's not worth taking risks.
If you want to bait them and get a little bit of "payback", open up a nice new Gmail account, give it a week or so and then bait them from there. In the meantime, have a little read up of the site and learn how you can open up a can of lad-pain.  |

Did you get far enough into the exchanges to see what kind of scam was being planned? |
