What is the scam here?

Okay, so I decided to take my first dive into the love/dating scam. This lady answered that she likes my profile.... all I did was attach a picture of the character "Gorden Gekko" from the movie "Wall Street" directed by Oliver Stone... don't ask I have no idea why that picture....

So she claims to be in the USA.... english is of course awful. IP comes back to Nigeria. What is the angle? She can't hit me up for visa $$.... she can't date me in RL and get money that way.... this is my first time so be gentle...

She's going to end up having to go to Nigeria on business or to visit a sick parent. She'll need money to pay the doctors, hotel bill, be robbed and need a ticket home, etc. etc....

)

I told her I trade frozen orange juice futures for a living ("Trading Places" the movie) I think that I will try to work in references to as many movies as possible just for my own amusement.

Is this really a love / dating scam in essence?

Forgive me for my inexperience, but to my untrained mind (I'm not a love scam man, more straight advance fee stuff) this looks more like a type of advance fee scam but with the lad pretending to be a girl.

I suppose the lines between the different types of scam can get very blurred, would that be right?

Oh I suppose that it does not matter what we call the scam? I mean all it is at base is that the lad promises x with no intent to deliver, and all the while telling you he/she/it needs just another $y and x will be delivered.

I can tell you that unless we have some explicit sex talk that this guy/gal/she male/eunich/whatever ain't gettin no money

(and for the record not getting any even after the sex talk, but you know the drill Smile

)

Just as Lotta said. She will probably end up in Nigeria for work or sick family member. That is when it will all starts. You can keep this going for a long time. Twisted Evil

My scammer boyfriend has had every accident possible happen to him. He was rubbed (robbed) and his friend shut (shot) to death before his eyes. Not once, but, twice. each time the hospital held him hostage because he could not pay his bill. Poor guy. Twisted Evil

I have been trying to help him...REALLY... Very Happy

Yes, sadly, his friends died. He then needed money to pay the hospital so he could get out and attend the funeral. I did tell him that they could not hold him like that and that he should call the Embassy.

He of course wanted no part of that. So I told him to climb out the window and run. Somehow, he managed to get out and moved on to the next problem. Rolling Eyes

I had a scam that was through a dating site, to cut a long story short she had a box with a security company and money had to be sent via WU so she could come and live happily ever after with me.

I would presume a photo of the young lady holding a sign would not be possible as the photo you have seen would very unlikely be of the actual scammer
