, I was in a restaurant years ago, a waiter brought me some steak, I cut the steak and blood was pouring out of it, I called the waiter, told him I wanted it well done with NO BLOOD, he takes it away, comes back a short while later, I cut in to it, not so much blood, but still blood in it Rolling Eyes

I hate watching cookery tv programs, where just about every chef cooks the meat so that it is seared on the outside, and pretty much raw on the inner, who wants to eat bloodied meat, it looks disgusting.

Well thanks to Don I do now.

SP you know when you send food back they spit in it. My wife does that (sends food back) all the time. Bugs the crap out of me. Like you, her steak has to be well done. What�s the point in getting a steak if it burnt to a crisp?

Cooking a steak properly without burning it to a crisp isn't difficult, just takes a little longer.

Typical backyard grill in Argentina....
No sense in getting a fancy looking grill with a 70" plasama tv, and all kinds of gadgets...
This is the simple, poor life!!

Yum, that and a small jeroboam of champagne would make a very nice snack between courses.

@SP In Scotland I once sent a steak back 3 times before they actually cooked the thing, got free beer because of it, always make a fuss you get more for your mulla.

As much as I hate to say this, I have to agree with Don. That steak looks like it is done to perfection. SP, if you like your steaks well done, here is a time saving tip for you. Simply remove the leather from a pair of shoes and eat that. A well done (ruined) steak is no better than eating shoe leather, and just as tough.

SP, I'll not argue with a Brit over cooking, I spent 2 years and Scotland and am still recovering. Cool

As for Argentinian steaks however...I've dated a girl from Buenos Aires for a while...umm...no, that's beside the point...what I wanted to say is that I recently watched a TV program on how to do a perfect Argentinian BBQ and I must say I'm impressed. I always thought Germans quite got the hang of how to grill properly but what Argentinian farmers (who admittedly produce the best beef in the world) do to their steaks in a 5 hour operation which doesn't involve such profanities as charcoal is just beyond belief (I admit that after having to wait for that long I wouldn't care about raw or cooked anymore, I'd just be friggin' hungry). Anyway, I just wanted to say that the Argentinians know their beef. But I'm not dating that girl anymore.
