I searched around the site and I don't think this has been posted before.

I have been learning a bit about wash wash scams here lately... I thought this was a great video on such: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVfpksmpv8c&mode=related&search=

I had heard a lot about these scams, but never really understood them.

If a mod feels this should go in the videos thread, then please move it. I thought this was a bit more scam related, so it may deserve its own thread.

Anyone with a braincell would wonder why a guy with thousands of dollars/pounds covered in black but has the solution would sell the money on the cheap.

I'm sorry but anyone fool enough to fall for that "magic" roller routine is among the most gullible people on the planet. I knew how it was gonna work even before he used it. And no, I'm not a magic circle member.

^^^^ For people who actually are present at a demonstration, it can be extremely convincing.

I once spoke to a victim who was sucked into the wash-wash in Amsterdam. It's not as cleanly-cut absurd at a first glance as it may seem.

I was a member of the magic circle for many years.. I could sell that routine in a heartbeat. There is no shortage of people who want to believe trust me.. Cool

One simple question could clear up everything...

If this guy has the solution and the black money already, why would he sell it and not just clean it himself?

As KD said though, that could be quite convincing if seen in person. That is why the mugus do it. When someone actually SEES the money being cleaned, then you have really added credibility.

The guys who did that video are professional con-artists. They are part of a BBC show called the Real Hustle. They do some incredible stuff on there. I just discovered them researching that black money scam.
