Il y a les fèves et les haricots.
Hay habas, habichuelas, porotos, alubias, judías, frijoles, gandules, y garbanzos.
And that's just one thing Spanish has more words for.

I'm looking for a shadchan (there are no professional ones around here) so that I can marry a judía. A human, not a bean!

I do not, of course, eat pork and beans. I do eat beans though.

Without any vested interest, just as a bean eater myself, I highly recommend Rancho Gordo beans (they can be googled). They sell heirloom beans that'll make a noticeable difference in any bean recipe!!

@VX-. Garbanzos are chickpeas. Very different Wink

. Now being serious, take boiled white beans (the soft, small ones), soften some baby squid un a skillet with a bit of oil (just to coat the skillet) and perhaps a clove of garlic or two under low fire. Add the beans. Take it out of the firme, drizzle with chopped parsley and perhaps a tad of balsamic vinegar. Enjoy.

I've seen a squid's pen. Akin to a septum, but not deviated, and quite strange.

No beans today. Cocktail weenies with smoky mesquite BBQ sauce, cheering my team while they stumbled, choked, and lost. It was obvious they could not see me through the TV -- they could have rallied at any time. Razz
