Its now the 8th day of the King's safari.
Instead of staying in Togo, he returned to Ghana. I am now trying desperately to lure him to collect me in Cotonou, Benin, but he is digging his heels in.

Persephone tried to call him yesterday, and I am convinced that had she spoken to him, then he would have travelled up the coast to Benin.

But he admitted to me that his phone is now broken after he "dropped" it when returning from his wild goose chase to Lome, Togo... Laughing

So he has had to get a new one from somewhere..

Well Monday morning comes and still, King Zongo is holed up in Accra.

We have been at a stalemate all weekend, Zongo wanting me to travel to Accra, me wanting him to travel to Cotonou. So no new leg of the safari to report as yet, but some amusing Emails from the King.

It seems to me like he must be doing drugs or something, calling himself "King Zongo" and writing all sorts of nonsense! Actually I have now found out why Burkinabes (sp?) are so reluctant to travel to Benin.

Well despite repeated warnings from King Zongo that I would be either:

a) Eaten by cannibals
b) Captured by white slavers
c) Cursed by the JuJu man

I refused to move from Cotonou, unless he made the safari to collect me.

Sadly I suspect that the King has now given up on me, and is now on his was back home to Ouaga, 13 days since he originally departed.
Although, he did send me this Email from Ghana, which just goes to show that he was still holed up there last night.... Very Happy
