Can't do it here, mostly because I'm a Computer Science major... my computer being available is directly related to my grades |

No problem, computers are certainly not needed to survive.
...and the best thing I ever did was getting rid of my mobile phone. |

What, please, is the definition of "computer"?
Every CD-player is a computer, so are most phones, cameras, etc. etc.
What are we supposed to shut off for a day?

^^^ Yes, of course. I just mentioned a few stand alone items that are basically computers with special functions.
Most anything we use today has computer functions built in: cars, refrigerators, microwaves, TVs, clocks, etc., etc. ..., but I'm pretty sure that that's not what is meant by turn off day.
But what is? |

No car. No TV (not really a problem). No alarm clock, though my wristwatch is an old Soviet wind-up job. No PC, obviously.
I'm scheduled to be on an airplane that day as well. Sorry, won't be telling the pilot to shut down the ILS for landing.
Jeez, I hate when the Amish sneak into an Internet Cafe and start up crap like this.

Memo to to the Mod lounge. A good day to do some essential maintenance?
Shame it's a Saturday. The lads don't do weekends so it's wasted on them anyway. |

You know, to some degree the human brain is a very complex computer. You'd better not use your brain either. (Ok, so no change for about half of the world...) |

When my computer broke down or I was getting a new one I've had shut down days/weeks/more in the last few years. Even so, I have papers due the week after so I'll actually need my computer on the 24th. |
