Some of you might remember Anastasia:

She's been trying to scam me for money for a "visa", so naturally I asked for a copy so I could check it out before I sent the cash. She mentioned something about a medical too. Anyway, this is what I got:

I might not speak much Russian, but I can see a piece of crap a mile off. Laughing

I just had time to glance at it, and my Russian level could be described as conversational, rather than fluent, but it appears to be a contract between a travel agency and a client (the usual provisions about cancellation, passports, etc).

Yes, Bruin is right.
My Russian is not the best too. But this is a agreement (dogovor) between a travel agency and a client arranging a holiday trip (accommodation, visa, flight tickets, health insurance etc are mentioned. But only the visa part is filled: cost 12800 Rubles.)

Apologies for necro-ing the thread, but after pretending to be deeply hurt and going quiet for three weeks (I was really on holiday) I finally got a copy of the visa.

Not only is this another piece of crap, but it's the wrong kind and doesn't allow travel to the UK. Classic! Now to get her to fill the application form for the right visa. Twisted Evil

Yep.

Still, I think that makes her all the more dangerous. The supermodel types require serious stretching of credibility. However, if I didn't know she was a scammer, I'd have thought she's the sort of girl who'd actually be prepared to marry some fat, balding, middle-aged bloke just to get out of Russia.

Wahay! She's now got a 100% risky free UK visa.

I couldn't get her to fill in the application form, but how could I possibly complain about a piece of crap like that?

I just sent her to V3rifys3c and got the following e-mail in reply:

Some of these idiots have worked out that v3rifys3c is a shonk and have passed it around. Try to do a fake number for moneygram just to waste their time some more. Make sure you give them a huge slap for accusing you of being dishonest. I would! Laughing

The scary thing about this is that it works! I replied back sounding very upset and offered the old cash in a brown envelope gambit. We're back on track with Moneygram now, although there are lots of forms to fill in. Twisted Evil

I guess the thing is that even scammers hate the idea of having spent two or three months corresponding with someone without getting anything to show for it, so even when they're fairly sure that you're just playing them along they'll still persist in some vain hope.

^^^ Don't worry. I can assure you that it's quite the reverse.

Having exhausted WU and Moneygram now, and knowing that she already has passport and visa sorted out, I'm in the process of getting her an e-ticket. With a bit of luck she'll try for a refund on it. Twisted Evil
