I'm a newbie- and lost

Hi everyone,

I have run into my first scammer and I found this site after I did everything wrong. I was in the chatroom on myspace and my friend asked me for my phone# this nut was in the room too, he got my phone number too.
He called me and said my friend gave him the number, I talked with him for awhile and then he ended to conversation with " I love you". This pissed me off , so I decided to mess with him.
The next day he needed $2000 dollars, wanted me to send it western union, make a long story short. I have old WU i sent out before, I gave him the MTCN from that. Told him don't call me again and hung up, he called back, he didn't get money. Told him i sent it now leave me alone.
The called today saying how much he loves me and now he needs $5000 for gems we can invest. I could string him along for the rest of the year but he's starting to get on my nerves. He wont go away, Help please someone, what do i do now. I'm suppose to call him to let him know if I got the money.

If you don't want to be harrassed by this person then block their phone number or, shock, turn your phone OFF? Laughing

It's not a good idea to try to bait anyone who has your personal details for reasons you are discovering. Ignore this person and he will soon lose interest.

If you are interested in scambaiting then before you do anything else I suggest you read and re-read all the Stickies and FAQs here which will give you the important and useful information you will need to get started. Thank you for the advice. I turned off ringer cancelled my email account, myspace account. I opened up new ones i'll be more careful next time around.

MySpace is rife with scammers.

It's a bad idea to bait your own scammer, even if he doesn't have your personal details. He already knows how to push all the right buttons to manipulate you. I would also take a bit of time before starting to bait to make sure you go about baiting in a detached way.
