I play no limit hold'em tournements at a local casino. Do fairly well at said tournements and I'm playing in one tonight after work. However forgot his MP3 player and lucky t-shirt at home. I don't have time to go home and get them before I go. So the question I have for all you beautiful people is not should I play with out said items or go home. But rather should I have my wife get them and bring them to me? She has a 30 minute drive home and then it would be another 30 minutes to my work.... gah! Why did I have to forget them!!  |

Screw losing your money at the casino, go home, have a nice dinner with your wife, spend a romantic evening with her, buy her something nice with your poker money.
Don't let her drive around bringing you stupid things that won't help anyway. |

I've played in 3 tournements and I'm close to 1k ahead of the game right now. After starting this thread I realized how silly it was to ask her to come out here to bring me that stuff... she'd never make it on time!!! Oh well, I guess I'm playing on pure skill tonight..... I'm so screwed.

A romantic dinner for us tonight would be Hamburger Helper and the hopes that our daughter didn't make a mess. Then Smallville if the little one goes to bed at a reasonable hour. Poker is my night out, going to a friend's house is hers. We love our time together because of our time apart. |

I concur with KD. Dinner and romantic gestures are more likely to result in getting "lucky" than time at a casino...

Meh, I get one night out a week and so does she. I enjoy winning money so she can spend it. I'm not playing slots or video poker. I'm playing games that take some skill and strategy and just a little bit of luck. $50 buy in for a cut between $250-$750 is well worth the risk in my book. |

I won't ask lieu if he got lucky last night. I will say that there is no such thing as quality time. There is only time. Absence only makes the heart wander.
I gave up working a very lucrative side job when my youngest was two. I consider it lucrative when a few hours at night brings in more than a day job. After a year, I was offered the same situation for one night a week. After seeing what the kids have done so far, I'm glad I stayed at home. |

One night a week for 3 hours won't make the heart wander. We all need time to pursue individual interests and I ALWAYS ask my wife if it's okay first. Sometimes she says no and I go home. And now she gets something shiney with my winnings  |
