We were out in the car as a family, and my wife and my 14 year old son were discussing his upcoming science project.
My wife said

(Apparently its a term quite commonly used in the medical profession to describe testing or research procedures) |

She was very hurt when I pointed out that the word used extremely frequently by e-mail scammers. She said "It's very commonly used in our profession". I let that pass without comment in the interests of family harmony. |
