Hi All;
I am unfortunately a fooled one, although wish I found this site earlier, still it is comforting to find some people who understand easier than others

ok i came across with this guy while ago through a dating site!
his name ( so called name) Sonny Maxwell,
half Irish half American, moved to States 1.5 years ago, his exwife collected the money from acounts and run away( i should have done the same!)
he has a daughter Michelle 4.5 years old,
he is an investment broker and real estate agency
leaves in Los Angeles, but a month after meeting went to Nigeria! should have again ring the bells, but my sister and nephew travels to Ghana every year and i travel so often, i did not think it is weird at all

i have the pics he has sent to me ,his as well as his daughters,

i have been dumb aghhhhhh
have the adress he has given me details to transfer money through western union

Ikeja/Lagos
offfff

the worst part was, i have been in doubt all the time, was searching internet to find and clue about him and the details he has given me Sad

(we try to make victims out of the scammers here....) Smile

Your not the first so take a deep breath and move on forward. There's lots of great people here with lots of great advice.

It may be a coincidence, but a Samuel Eze pops up in one of Shivers' pulished letters, about the church of bread and wine. He is from Lagos in that saga

I too have had the misfortune to come across Sonny Maxwell. Boy, he is good. I was matched with him through Eharmony and he went through all the steps. However, he just sounded too good to be true. So I Googled his name and came across this website. Thank God and in the nick of time. He had told me a few days ago of his impending trip to Africa to "check on the money he sends to benefit the children in Africa" He even went so far as to say he works with Bono of U2 in his charities in Africa. So I"m sure his request for money was going to happen soon. If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS. If it wasn't for angel2daredevil's blog, I would have been suck into this scam. I hope that she finds in her misfortune she helped someone else. I am more than grateful for her taking the time to report this. It saved me a huge hassle in the future.

Looks like a lad had an original idea and got a new address

@angel2 and fredjoey - Sorry you were (nearly) scammed but don't feel bad about it. These scammers are very slick as you have discovered. The advice is to stop ALL communication with him and spread the word among your friends and family that these criminals are out there waiting to take advantage of innocent and trusting people like you. If you need more victim support then go to the link Stepan Fetchit gave you.
