Did anyone catch the episode shown this week all about various scams? I've managed to get hold of a copy.

As for me, in the country in which I live we do have opera, however ussually episodes are about 1-2 years behind... Laughing

So if there is any place where I can see the episode online, please post it!

I saw it, there was some good info on it. One thing pissed me off though, they were talking about fake eBay mail at the end and Oprah cut off the guy speaking when he was about to say something very important. He was starting to talk about the links in the fake emails and how in your email the link may look like it will take you to an official eBay page, but in reality it takes you to a fake eBay page and that is how they grab your account info. Since Oprah wouldn't shut her trap he was never able to explain that people should hover over the link and look at the actual address it will take you to, not the address that it show. Aside from that it was good

That's what happened to me. In my ebay mail I had an "Official Ebay Notice" I clicked on it and that's all she wrote Evil or Very Mad

Since my primary email was linked to that, poof, it was gone too. Luckily I was able to get my ebay back fast enough that no damage was done. The person who stole it from me listed upteen million cell phones. I was quick enough so that no innocent people hopeing to buy a cell phone got stung but bids were made. I never got my email back and who knows what they are selling to people through my name. That email addy will show up legit and linked to several decent co's. Yahoo will not investigate since I don't remember any of my original sign info. I've had it ever since the internet was available, I don't even rember where I lived or who I was doin' way back then. I'm very upset and it will haunt me forever. I can't imagine what it would feel like to lose $$$ but it's very close to rape. A complete and total violation to your privacy.

What he said is very interesting, because it is highly naive in the extreme. Nigerian scammers, like every other scammer we come across here on 419Eater do not give a shit about your origins and background. They want to make you into a victim regardless.

That's the sort of ignorance that we are fighting against. Also, another charge levelled against us is that we only target black scammer because of racism. That's bullshit. We target scammers that contact us with their spam. We have seen all sorts of ethnicities baited. The unifying factor is that they are scammers.
