I just got an email that is odd.

WARNING: You are being scammed by "Paul Chinedu ", "Phiillup Joe" and others

Scammers email address is: using email addresses known to you

We are a group of citizens who prevent fraud artists from operating on
the internet. We have information from our informants in the scammer's
community that a known scam artist, has targeted you for theft of your money.

Please understand that the transaction he proposes is not genuine - he
intends to make you pay fees to him in advance, and then will ask for
more fees and disappear. This is a common scam which has cost people
millions of dollars. He does not have access to the funds he
describes. He is trying this scam on dozens of people at the same
time. Some information regarding these scams can be found at:

We ask that you take the following action in response to this warning.

1. Please do not inform the scammer of this communication. If the
scammer was aware that our informants gave us this information, their
lives would be in danger.

2. If you believed the transaction to be genuine, please stop all
communication with the scammer immediately. Do not try to retaliate
against the scammer, because he may have your personal information,
and doing so would alert him to our informants.

3. If you were baiting the scammer knowing that the transaction was
false, we will not interfere with your fun. Let us know if there is
any information we can provide. However, please make sure that at NO
time do you tell him that you received this warning.

4. Please respond to this email when you can, so that we know you have
received this warning.

If you have any further questions regarding this warning or the scam,
please feel free to ask.

this is another organization that baits scammers.

Just reply to the guy and tell him you are a baiter.

@joanekaf As rumbero said: just write them a brief thank you email and let them know you are a baiter. They will cross you off their list and all will be fine.

No need to be paranoid as there are some good 'netizens out there.

Does someone actually send out random emails like this? Has anyone spoken to them?

Do they actually have informants who have infiltrated internet cafes to spy on scammers? It almost sounds like a lad is sending this out to potential victims to try and weed out the Gm@il Jokesters.

^^^^^ It's not a random email and it's not a lad weeding out, we know the sender, Percy Veer, they are a member of Scam Patrol, nothing suspicious, as others have said, just say thanks, I'm a baiter and carry on baiting the lad.

the fact that you've been warned means you've convinced the informant that you're a real victim. I've been warned five or six times. Treat it as a vote of confidence and keep on baiting!

It is nice to know there are peeps out there lookng out for our best interests!

I wish my BIL got something like this before he was swindled out of thousands.
