hello everyone
I'm new here.
Into IT security and technical support and thought I would give some social engineering (used a lot in computer security testing) a go and see where it takes me
Just taken the advice of the forum and posted my scambaiting e-mail into a few guestbooks which resembles a first and last name to make it look a but more credible (maybe). However it is nothing like my real name.
I'll try to keep you all posted how it goes. Now awaiting my first mark to lure in

If by 'social engineering' you mean obtaining passwords we'd prefer that you don't update us with your experiment- it's illegal.

Welcome to the world of baiting antispam - there's a lot to learn, though you don't need to be a wizard to have a lot of fun and send a few lads into melt down.
'Mind melding', deceit, cunning, knowledge and mental manipulation are all prime tools in a baiters arsenal - but be sure to read the stickies - then read them again, to make sure you are safely set up and know the do's and don'ts. There are also a lot of tips, tricks and hints, all recorded in the forums which can be found using the search function. Also read the completed baits and forums - they are full of ideas.
A mentor will help you greatly to get off to a flying start - picking your scammer, getting your wheels on the track and knowing what you can get away with and what effect your replies will have.
Don't get too ambitious too soon - get very ambitious in a month or two  |

We are anti scam. You can't really bait spam. This is just junk mail sent out to get you to buy something. Technically you can't bait anti scams as this would be a double negative and you would be effectively a scammer. |

I think Gomer made the typo. TS needs an extra layer of aluminum in his hat.
In fact I see that I read it wrong. I think there should be a comma in there.
So I guess I made the error.  |
