My department at work re-organized, and I've been placed into a new slot. I have no experience or expertise in the new responsibility, but the management here decided that they wanted to get more of their people cross-trained.
I'm very excited about this.....I have done the same thing for too long (three years), and getting a chance to learn some new things is going to round out the resume some and enhance my marketability.
Change can sometimes be good! I'm doing the happy dance right now. |

I agree, it's good to switch over to making French fries and warming up Hot Apple Pies after three years of flipping burgers at the grill.
If you're good at it and apply yourself, in three years you might make it to the counter, maybe even the drive-in window.
Just imagine how proud your mother will be when you ask that question for the first time: "you want fries with that?"

Congrats! I, on the other hand, could very well be out of work in a month or so when my company re-orgs for about the fifth time in a year.
I'm thinking about a career change. I understand that there's really good money to be made scamming stupid Americans...

@ KD: one of my ealier jobs was being a burger flipper. Cheese Louise, did that ever motivate me to continue with college!
These days, I flip burgers on my BBQ grill.  |
