So I asked one of my Vlads about the rugs on the wall and got this reply, which left me even more confused than before.

It's really quite simple...
The Vladettes hang the carpets on the walls because the floors built during the soviet era are a lovely dried mud. You don't want to get the carpet dirty by putting it directly on the floor. It is best hung on the paper mache walls. |

I think we should all get in on the game and find out what the hell is with the Carpets on the walls ..
My bet is it has to have something with it being so cold there all the time so they use the carpets to keep their places warm .. |

ANYTHING that covers up that damn wallpaper is fine with me*!!!!!!!!!
We've talked about the rugs before.
I think the real reason is they are valuable, and not to be stepped on and worn or soiled. |
