The 419Eater Hall of Fame!

It would be voted on by the admin/mod team. The criteria would be something like "this person has made Eater a much better place through their contribution to the site, and the collective lad pain they have caused is off the charts".

It would perhaps be on either the main page or somewhere on the forum. I'm not sure how it would work, exactly - perhaps people would be nominated by regular (or premium) members, and the admin/mod team would vote. If the person hit a certain threshold of votes, they'd be in (anyone who would be voting would recuse themselves if they were the ones nominated).

Obviously Shiver would be at the very top of the list. Some long term members who aren't as active these days (YeaWhatever, SOOI, Tsnerd, Jojobean to name a few) would be excellent candidates as well. Newer members would be able to learn about these people and their baiting successes.

How do you guys feel about this idea?

I do like the nomination and voting bit, but I think Eater's Greatest Hits pretty much recognises the greats.

How about "Eater of the Month" or something like that? You know, to recognise the not-quite-legendary-but-still-deserving-of-recognition things that happen. Say, if someone were to get over 20 piggies that month or something, that might qualify them for nomination.

I personally prefer a more informal way of doing the above.
We do have some ways of recognising great contributions of different types, not just including having baits in the Eater Hall of Fame but also a range of different icons representing impressive achievements.

"Not quite legendary but still deserving of recognition", this is a very nice way to put it. I'm personally hesitant about things that could feel like popularity contests but really like the idea of recognising excellent baiting whether it happens on a large or small scale. Feel free to let me know if you see excellent baiting at any level that you think is passing under the radar (Or indeed, feel free to post comments to that effect).
