I'll tell you what, since there is another team from Cameroon you cannot claim the entire country. I would allow the change if you chose a city in Cameroon (as opposed to the whole country) or another city in West Africa that is not Lagos (since Lagos already has two teams.) As far as the team name, I guess Puppyteers is okay. Just give me a city in Cameroon or another city in West Africa and we'll make it happen. The other team is in Douala and you are more than welcome to choose that city since you and the other team are in different divisions and I think it would be awesome to create another city rivalry.

Just want to remind everyone that the rosters lock at the first game of the week and this week the first game is on a Thursday. I don't want anyone complaining that they have open spots on game day because they left an injured/suspended player in the game or they did not fill a spot. So consider yourselves warned. Ser Davos, I'm looking in your direction because you currently have an open spot for a wide receiver. So I am asking that everyone please double check their final rosters in advance of Thursday.

For clarification, if you have no players playing on Thursday, you still have to have your roster locked?

As an example, you have Player A scheduled to play in a Sunday early game. He's in a car accident/practice injury/whatever Friday morning. You cannot swap his roster spot for one of your bench players playing after that Thursday game?

Yes. Thursday is the beginning of week 1 and the rosters remain locked until all the games have been played. So the rosters are locked between Thursday and the completion of Monday Night Football's game.

The rule is in place to prevent owners from manipulating scoring by benching a player who has already played and had a less than stellar game in favor of one who could have a potentially better later game. With that said, the rule's purpose is to prevent unscrupulous activity. In the event that there is an actual accident (like the car accident that you hypothesized above) that affects a player after the rosters have been locked and neither the benched player nor the starting player have played, I may allow the change if a timely request is made and the opposing owner does not make a legitimate objection grounded in collusion or material unfairness. With that said, whether the objection is in fact "legitimate" is determined by the league manager. As such, a replacement of the type will be done on a case by case basis if:

3) Neither the benched player or the starting player's games have begun. (A game officially begins for the purposes of making this request when it is scheduled to begin regardless of when it actually begins.)
4) The opposing owner does not make a timely, legitimate objection grounded in collusion or material unfairness prior to either the beginning of the benched player or starting player's game

Ok. I will apologize for the ignorance as this is the first time I've played FF via ESPN.

I believe, once a player has played, he's stuck wherever you had him slotted.

Those rules are one reason I never used EPSN, Yahoo, or NBC.

When I played (it's been several years), we paid for the software at fanstar.

Used them for 15 years years. Everyone had their username and password in our league to do transactions on our team website (which was provided). And you could do transactions right up until game time.

If a request was put in a minute or two late, it would be put on hold subject to approval by the league manager (which was me).

And we kept our rosters and stuff pretty simple. Instead of starting rosters, we just had the basics--two QBs, RBs, WRs (or TEs) and one defense and kicker. And they all played week to week. Our main transactions were bye weeks and injuries. But with 10 people, we still had a good payout at the end of the year.

Anyway--sorry for my input, as I'm not on the league here at Eater.

I've never used ESPN's FF, but in my experience with Yahoo, the players lock in the roster when their specific game starts, so you have until game time to make last minute changes.

Well folks a bit of bad news. Firstly bware, I appreciate you bringing this to my attention and you made very compelling arguments. So much so that I considered changing the rule. The problem is that I am unable to. apparently that feature is something that locks as soon as the draft is completed, and even though I'd like to change it I am unable to. This sucks for everyone involved and I'm really sorry about that. The only thing I can say is at the time it seemed like a good rule. Crying or Very sad
