I got stung pretty bad with the shipping company scam. The guy asked me to ship a bunch of product over seas and wanted a price. I gave him a price. He told me that the price was acceptable and asked me if it was OK to use his shipping company. I didn't care how it shipped. We added the shipping price that was quoted by the shipping company into the price and he paid me with a credit card. $25,000. The card paid. Once I knew the card paid, he asked me to wire the cost of shipping to his phony shipping company. Like an idiot, I wired $9,000 to the shipping company. The credit card was stolen, so I had to pay the $25,000 back and lost the 9,000.

It would be interesting to find out who took me for the ride.

That really sux. A couple of years ago I was selling a second hand bbq on gumtree. I got contacted by a person who was willing to pay me 3 times more than I listed, but wanted me to send it overseas. I didn't realize it was a scam but there was a lot of red flags. Fact they were going to pay far and beyond what it was worth and ship it overseas.
I only wanted to sell it pick up only. They wanted me to use their shipping company. In the end it was too much effort screwing around like they wanted me too.

Welcome to Eater! Please post your story in https://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=43 with enough details that another victim can search the web for the scam and find your post.

Several of us bait this kind of lad. I once got 21 stolen credit card numbers from one lad and reported them. I'm preparing a product lad bait for publication; the lad, like many product lads, had no idea what he was ordering and I spent several days frustrating him with simple questions.

I hope you'll stick around and bait, but don't try baiting a product lad right after you've been scammed by one. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
