Click on 'Insert' on the ribbon, then go to 'text' on the ribbon, a menu will then appear, click on 'time and date' and it will ask you a format to insert the date as then press insert/ok.

I'm still using Office 2003, so I can't help.

Why should I buy a new one when my old one still works? At least I upgraded from Office 1997. Smile

The only problem you might have with 2003 is that it doesn't support XML documents i.e. .docx .pptx etc, just newer formats. If you did decide to upgrade I sometimes use <a href="https://www.libreoffice.org/">Libreoffice</a> it looks and feels like Office 2003 and supports all new formats, the best part is that it is free Very Happy (though I do prefer to mainly use Office 2013)

@Father Moleman

Actually office 2003 does have that capability. All you need is a plugin if you go to Microsoft's website and search for Office 2007 compatibility pack. It will alow you to open save and edit all of the newer of office formats.

^^And for the Mac, they have the free XML converter, which allows early versions of Mac Word to open .docx files.
