I'm new here, so I apologize in advance it this is the wrong spot for this question. I get calls every now and then from people that claim they're gonna "fix" my computer. I have been playing them along, but I'd like a little help and direction, if possible. Today I got two websites from the caller, and of course neither of them worked as they expected it to. http://www.advancepctech.net/help-me-now/ and http://www.fastheal.net.
They tried to get me to open Team Viewer, which of course would allow them into my computer and the ability to mine my personal info.

Welcome to Eater. Our focus is on Advanced Fee Fraud and this isn't a real "specialty" of this group, although we are familiar with it. One of our mantras involves baiting safe. These people calling you have your personal information (your phone, perhaps your name). We would not condone continuing with these criminals as you might be surprised by how much that little information can reveal. |

I had a call from the "Windows Support Desk" about ten days ago, saying that my computer had been compromised and that hackers were using it for "illegal activities".
I asked for an explanation of those "illegal activities" and kept asking that, until the woman snapped back "Shut your mouth and listen to me!"
Of course I didn't accept that. and her "supervisor" came on. He proved even more clueless. There was a lengthy silence; then the woman said, "You go fuck yourself" and hung up. |

I get those as well. I like to play a game of role reversal. How I play is let them do there little sales pitch on me. Then say hold on, Then i put the phone down and pretend to hand the phone to someone else. Then they do there sales pitch on that person. Then I say hold on. Then pretend to give to another person. I have a record in my house I made it to 8 people before they hung up on me. |
