.... on the way to the Polling Station - and I never got there!
0855: I attended my local surgery for blood checks and an ECG.
0920: The Practice Nurse completed the task, glanced at the ECG graph and hurried from the room.
0925: I entered the GP's room, he glanced up at me ad said, "Well, you won't be voting today. You're going to Hospital!"
Which is where I ended up - until Midnight! Happily, further tests at the Hospital determined that I had not had a heart attack - but now I'm faced with appointments for more tests.
Ah well, at least my man won by more than one vote ...

Glad to see you made it back in one piece and hope the follow-up tests go well. My trip to the polling station was uneventful - I was bright and early ... only a couple of people had voted before me. |

Glad you're still with us, AhGee, regardless of whether or not you voted.
Although, what the heck is a "Practice Nurse"? That title doesn't exactly inspire confidence... |

^ We call family doctors GP's or General Practitioners, so their clinic is called a General Practice and the resident nurse who does inoculations, contraception advice etc. is called the Practice Nurse, the only difference other than the names between US & UK clinics is just we pay for healthcare through tax and you pay at point of use. |

^^^^ Sorry TLH Wasn't it Churchill who said of USA & UK "Two great Nations divided by a common language"?
Our local doctors here are called General Practitioners, (GP'S, for short) and they run a 'General Practice' (health clinic), so any nurse(s) they employ are called 'Practice Nurses' ...of course! : |

Oh we pay for healthcare via tax, AND point of use in the US now..
just we don't have a "tax" just for healthcare unless you don't have insurance, then you pay a tax/fine for not having it.. |

@TLH, in the US they are Nurse Practitioners.
This is a warning to keep the politics and political philosophies out of Eater.
Glad you are well AG! |
