I got a bank info from my lad and I want the account to be blocked but have a couple of questions.
Before sending me this treasure he tried a little bit of Western Union love on me. The name he used as a recipient was a classical Nigeria style name. Address was Brescia, Italy. I googled his name and found it on some list (I don't know what it is google translator didn't help much Sad

) at city's website. So I thought it's his real name. But now he sent me a Thai account with a completely different name.

Is there a possibility that the account belongs to a lad's victim obtained by phishing? Do we block these accounts no matter who they belong to?

The account may belong to a victim or it may be an associate of the scammer.

You should report all accounts - even if it belongs to a victim, it is being used for fraud and the bank will deal with it, plus if the Mods think it is a victim, they will try to warn them.

Does the account immediately get blocked? Because I complained about non-existing account to the lad and he told me the number is correct.

It depends on the bank and whether anyone else has previously reported the account. They may block it immediately; they may watch for transfers into the account and investigate them. None of us have any way to know.

We have absolutely no control over that. The information is provided to the specific bank and they investigate. Ultimately, it is up to the bank to close the account, monitor it, or continue as normal. The banks have their own bylaws and procedures. We cannot "force" them to close an account, only provide evidence it was used in a scam.

Wait a couple of days, then tell your lad your bank returned the money to your account stating that it had been declined.
No further discussion about why/when/how, just declined.

Ask for another account, the lad will have a few to give up. Rinse and repeat until you feel enough, then wait for the lad to suggest another modality.

Do not contact the bank yourself, it will most likely be ignored.
