UPDATE: Sadly, McLagan has passed away, reportedly after suffering a massive stroke.
KXAN reports that the legendary musician, a longtime sideman with the Rolling Stones, was admitted, but no other details are known at this time.
McLagan, 69, started his professional career in 1965, when he joined the Small Faces. In 1969, when Steve Marriott left the band and Rod Stewart and Ron Wood joined, McLagan stayed on as the group rechristened itself the Faces.
When they broke up in 1975, McLagan joined his old bandmate Wood in the Rolling Stones, becoming their touring keyboardist. He also played on a few Stones recordings, including the electric piano on ‘Miss You.’

The best gig I ever went to, and I've been to a few, was seeing The Faces at Blackpool Winter Gardens, in 1974 (I think) with some mates from school.
McLagan's piano top was being used as a bar, the band were at least as drunk as the audience, and we all ended stood on the seats, swaying together arm in arm like a football crowd as we sang along with Rod and the band.
On the long drive home the lights went on my mum's Mini, but we weren't stopping as we didn't have a full driving license between us.
