I am so happy that you are getting the support you need. I have been very worried about you and wish I could do something to stop the pain for you. We are all here because we don't want what happened to you to happen to anyone else. It's what drives me to bait. <hugs>

Thank you "Some Buddy At Home" Thanks to Eater, I am doing great. I have a better outlook on life. So happy to be rid of the lad. Someday he will have to answer for his actions. I was looking on Pig Busters and there are numerous pictures of persons who use the lad's picture.

I'm so glad that you are moving onto better things and are able to put this scum behind you. I hope that you have been able to pick up some ideas on the way these people work and will be able to warn family and friends if you see any warning signs. All the best!

Received an e-mail from Sweet Poision and Kitty. They are having trouble keeping the lad interested. He is eager to get his money. Wish there was something I could do to help. They are wonderful, caring and so grateful

I was never scammed.... but, it's the nice ordinary people who get scammed, those who believe the best in everyone. Scammers take the best in people and wring them out and never think of the emotional turmoil.

There's time... I don't think we'll ever run out of scammers to bait ! There seems a never ending supply !

Can you maybe think of things he said to you to let his current baiters keep him engaged? Just to feel you are part of it yet still standing back.

Your time will come and you'll be so good at it by waiting for the right time.

the one thing he kept telling me over and over again was he was a God fearing man and would never do anything to hurt anyone. I accused him of being a scammer and told me I was insulting him. Not sure if that is of any help. He apologized for asking me for money. after a few weeks, he asked me if I would send money for his son, Stephen, birthday. Wanted $300 for an i phone. Told him I did not have that kind of money. The last request was that I give him my credit card info so he could reimburse me for $2,000 to transfer to my credit card for t he bogos check that I deposited to my account. I heard about from Kitty was he wanted money to fly him and his kids back to the states. I suggested that she give him a fake credit card number.

Just to clarify - I haven't started baiting him yet, so I'm not in that loop Wink

SP is a fantastic romo-lad baiter, and if he starts to let her down, I'll probably jump in, but there are a few other baits on my plate until then. We all know the lads are quick to nudge us if they think we're ignoring them. I doubt this lad is giving up on SP.

Gardenlady, something you probably know is there may be more than one lad at work on his account. Sometimes they work in pairs or teams, and at any given time the teams might change. I baited one lad who had at least four different "styles" of typing, and he would answer me at all hours, or chat and email simultaneously, which told me there were definitely more than one of them. In essence there really isn't a "him" behind the name, but probably several people.

All of the tactics you reported are fairly common stories they tell us to get victims to send money. There aren't many lads who are really original. One of mine just asked me for money to get his daughter some medicine, and then told me if I don't send the money she will die and it will be my fault. These people are scumbags, and they use any lie or tactic they can no matter how unethical.

The best revenge on these lads is to ignore them completely. Lads love attention and reaction from their victims, and it gives them satisfaction if they get either positive or negative attention because that tells them there is hope, and the victim still sees them as a real person. If you ignore them, it makes them angry and frustrated, and it takes away the only power they have.

Kitty, I am amazed that all the contacts I have had on my FB have had exactly the same story to tell about their family. I try to ensure I am consistent in case I am talking to someone I have talked to before but with a new name ! I think they've all been to the Naff School of Romance Scams !

They often quote God as this makes them appear good. I love the mock indignation when you hint you don't believe them.

GardenLady, they have no heart. They scam one and move on. Take hope that on here there are some very good scambaiters and they will at least tell the scum lots of lies and keep them going for a while.

Keep reading on here and get some satisfaction from Kitty and friends.

Don't let it dent your trust in humanity. There are still many more good people in the world than bad.... you bumped into bad ones... well, so be it. We all get hurt by something through a lifetime, it can't let the sun always be hidden by dark clouds.

Lads may well be showing real indignation. Lads have reacted with horror when I (as Mal or, less often, Roscoe) have announced a disbelief in God, to the point of forgetting the scam and trying for conversion. Cammy's devotion to the Aesir has had a similar effect.

Indignation at being called a liar (when you are in fact lying) is common, not just to lads, but people in general. I'd say it is a mix. A natural reflex from the lad combined with a clumsy attempt at "acting innocent".

You are saddened and maddened by him and upsetting your life... he has no compassion or thought at all.... so don't waste good emotions... stick him in the past and look to the future.... you deserve to be happy.

Thanks Hon: I am ready to rock and roll. I think the lad was trying to bait me using another name. the guy was interested in connecting with me and was asking if i was interested. i deleted it immediately. this experience has made me a bit savoy and not letting compliments go to my head and making stupid mistakes.

i am not saddened and mad by him. i feel i am worth more than he will ever deserve. just wish he could be brought to justice.
