I don't know if this as a thread already on the site but I have only just seen it and can't believe that some one is so stupid and in complete denial. There is really nothing that can be done for her.
Watching this makes you so angry you want to slap some sense into her.

Actually, what bothers me is Dr. Phil calling Scammers "Catfish". There's a difference IMHO. Catfish aren't after money, Scammers are.

I remember that show. It was a day when I was on vacation. And I have seen a few others.

I did email the producers and told them about scamwarners because Dr. Phil doesn't know what's talking about half the time and is more worried about shock value. I never heard back.

And speaking of Dr. Phil--I can't stand the son-of-a-bitch. I only watched those few episodes because I was channel surfing and it came on with the "scam" thing.

Reasons for hating him are personal and professional.

No thanks, I tend not to have a laugh over romance victims. It is one of the more harsh forms of scamming. Note the part you wrote I underlined, I did that for a reason. As humans this nice little feeling we call attraction and love releases something called endorphins, and they tend to over ride common sense in a lot of cases. In fact it's similar to a high, albeit a completely natural and healthy high. Either way it definitely tends to turn off a bit more of the logic side of the brain and more of the trust side of the brain.

This is why scammers love to use it in romance scams. In fact you could compare it to brain washing in many regards. It is taking something someone holds near and dear, mangling it to the reality you want to manipulate it to, and using it. So no, I won't have a laugh. I am in a very foul mood - have been all day, actually, and Doctor Who on Netflix isn't resolving it - so, I am a bit tired of victim bashing, victims bashing and just bashing in general....but I'm very ok with troll poking.

I like how Action1976 assumes there are no former victims here as baiters or that none of the members know a victim. I like how victims are referenced as "suckers" and not not a human being that has been emotionally traumatized. It warms my little black heart that the OP finds it amusing to watch someone lose money to these scum.

But then again, I've been known to lie to people about ignorant shit they've said.

It's too easy to say that people who get scammed are just stupid. Remember that not all people are in full control of their cognitive abilities. Some are in full control and get scammed too. I believe that anyone (Even Myself) is vulnerable to the right kind of scam. I have friends who look at me weird when I talk about what I do and I know they think "It'll never happen to me". I have other Friends that say what I'm doing is so cool because they have a friend who was scammed for XXX dollars or received a check for more money than they wanted for an item on Craigslist. Some are just glad there are people out here willing to do what we do. We help countless people that we will never meet or even know we helped. By baiting and reporting the information I get on the scammers I occasionally get a post at the warning site thanking me for the work I do. That means someone was ready to send the money but took that one last step to Google a detail and found the info I posted. There's a small separation between Victim and almost Victim.

I don't like equating someone who has been emotionally raped a sucker.

I don't like Dr. Phil exploiting a person on TV who has been emotionally raped entertainment, nor healthy for the victim. I refuse to click your link and watch it as it will just give him the false idea that I approve (not that my approval means squat to "Dr" Phil) of exploiting this victim for his own egocentric and monetary gain.

I believe that 99% of us who bait, do so because we don't want someone to be scammed. We do this because we know how vulnerable someone can be. We know how smart and manipulative these scammers can be. They are criminals and they prey on people's vulnerabilities. I would never, ever call a vulnerable person a "sucker", I would call them someone who is looking for love and companionship. We all want to be loved and accepted and scammers prey on this.

Then there is the 1%...

Attitudes like that of the OP only help the scammers by making the victims of these scams unwilling to come forward. It's easy to judge someone else and say "what kind of idiot would fall for this?" when it isn't your emotions being manipulated.

And now I hate Dr. Phil even more than I did before.
