I have suddenly come to the realisation that I appear to be younger than most other baiters here. Maybe it is just the baiters I am speaking to.

This has made me wonder what the average baiting age is.

I am currently 20, but have been baiting for a few years.

I'm 19 almost 20. So Drusilla you're older than me but not by much. I wish I would have tried scambaiting sooner because it is fun also it gives me something to do when I'm bored.

I started when I was about your age Dru. I was 19 at the time. But if you feel like counting, then you might also want to know that this isn't my first account here, so I didn't start a year ago.

Personally if you ask me, I think I'd just rather be 24 for the rest of my life.

There have been a few polls over the years about age of eater membership. Here's one from 2010, with the age ranges 25-35, 36-44 and 45-54 very evenly represented at that time (~20% each, or a bit higher once you discount novelty responses).

I recall from other similar discussions that the youngest ever eater member was 30 seconds old, and the oldest >2,000,000 years (lack of consistent calendars making precise age difficult to determine).

I've come to the (probably biased) conclusion that there's an assymetrical distribution of ages. We can safely assume that the mean is 35 years. Most younger members are not younger than 25 and there's a few outlyers such as drusilla, faux fox and me, usually not younger than 19 (we can safely put a limit there, since I've only met a member younger than this age, and I've met quite a few baiters). So if age<35, standard deviation=10 with a limit at 19. But we can find quite a lot of baiters older than 45, so, when age>35 the standard deviation is bigger, let's say 15, so most of baiters older than 35 are in the 35-50 bracket, with some outlyers, although there's more of them, and probably there's a limit at 75, although I can't really prove it.

To sum it up: there's plenty of baiters between 25 and 35 and some younger than 25 but not younger than 19. There's also plenty of members between 35 and 50 and a substantial amount of older ones.
