He was indeed brilliant. I just watched "The Angriest Man in Brooklyn" the other night, and he was brilliant in that, as well.

RIP Robin. I have always enjoyed watching any movie he was in, serious or comedy. He was a touch of insane genius in just about everything he did or had anything to do with.

Sad day for anyone who values classic actors who cranked it up to volume 11. There was no 10 for him.

I loved Good Morning Vietnam, Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting, Patch Adams and the kids love Jumanji. I haven't seen the Fisher King but I added it to my list.

I tried watching some of his stuff since Monday, but no matter how brilliantly funny it is, I just can't laugh at it. I'm too much in shock. RIP Robin, you'll be sorely missed.

I will miss him greatly. There really needs to be more depression PSA's out there. It's a serious condition that should never be taken lightly. But it blows my mind that he covered the subject of suicide very thoroughly in the movie World's Greatest Dad. I could never watch that again after this.

If a person battles severe depression all of his life, the problem isn't temporary.

He made his decision and as much as it saddens me...I respect it.

I didn't like him when I was younger, and detested Mork and Mindy...although I crushed on Pam Dawber.

Coming back from jungle school changed all of that.

DoD chartered a civilian plane and filled it with a bunch of dirty, grimy, Army men, with weapons....unloaded, of course, but it still freaked the civilian stewardesses out, a bit.

They tried to keep us pacified and played movies - it was a very long flight from Ft Sherman to Ft Drum, and we were delayed, a lot. So, about 19 hours.

The first time The Fisher King came on, I was reading a book and ignored it. By the time they played it again, my book was finished, I couldn't sleep, and I had nothing else to do.

:shrug: He was brilliant.

I have barely read or listened to anything regarding his death. I just can't accept it and it seems surreal to me.

I can empathize with his depression, especially in the wake of a debilitating illness. Unless you have experienced it (depression and/or debilitating illness), or know someone who is going through it, you cannot imagine the pain and fear he was facing. RIP Robin, you will be missed.

I honestly don't know how to argue with people's decisions when they face such unknowns (re: Parkinsons). I'm not saying they're right or wrong just that I honestly dont' know.

It's one thing for someone to take their life just because life is tough but it's another when they have a known prognosis that they know will entail a drastic reduction in their quality of life.
I know people who survived all that Parkinsons could throw at them with as much smiling as could ever be expected. I could see though how someone with RW's talents/skills might not look forward to going throuhg all that he knew was going to be involved.

It was the same as when Hunter Thompson took his life. I just remained emotionless knowing that there had to be contributing factors yet to be revealed (and his cancer diagnosis was finally made public).

Either way, it's a sad reality and a great loss to all of us Funny, funny man!!

My favorite joke of his that has stuck with me through a couple of decades now, when looking at a telephone pole he cracked: Ah, it's a tree practicing EST!
