Had a query with my hushmail account, so it seems I made a mistake mentioning that I'm a scambaiter. Below is their reply.

Keep in mind as well that scam-baiting can be considered against our terms of service, and in theory could result in your account being deactivated at some point. Our terms of service apply equally to all users, and as such any activities that you do with your account that may be in violation of the terms will result in account de-activation.

I use Hushmail but mostly gmail, since the Hushmail storage capacity of 25 Mb is too small.

^^^ Pastor Frank, sir, Dr Mike tells me that - like Hushmail - you are Canadian. I never knew this.

Edited 12 Jul: the storage capacity is 25Mb, not 25 Gb.

25 GB is a lot no? I wrote them off years ago because of only 2 MB storage space. If they went up to 25 MB then I might use it again. Do the free accounts offer forwarding?

They might be referring to sending bulk Email. Since you told them you're baiting and they didn't shut your account down I don't think they care you're jacking with lads.

I'm almost* sure that back in the ancient past when the only three email providers ever mentioned here were Gmail, Fastmail and Hushmail the latter (and its customer service) was often complimented for being very baiter friendly and opening suspended accounts again when explained it was used for baiting.

So pretty much what Ghost said. I too think there may be a communication error and they are referring to something different. I don't remember "engaging in email correspondence while pretending that you are an imaginary person" being violation of any email provider's terms of service, not at least with the magic word "fraudulent" being thrown in at least several times. And since scambaiting is not by any stretch of imagination for financial benefit (or shouldn't be, I don't know if some rogue fool has managed to ruin our reputation again) I can't see where exactly the violation is.

If I were to receive such reply, I would be extremely interested in hearing their reasoning. And unless proven otherwise, I would expect them to be reasonable.

*OK, it may have been Fastmail as well, but I'm almost sure it was Hushmail.

@Fo, did you get Hushmail sorted? I used them at first, but switched to gmail due to their minimal storage capacity.

Didn't take long for Google to mess with me, though. They are incredibly unresponsive to hundreds, if not thousands, of reports about email-only domains being used for fraud. So they suspended my account instead and asked me what I was up to. I managed to get in touch with a semi-coherent engineer and explained the situation. Results: (1) I got my account back; (2) I leave a message to Google in my draft folder asking them to leave my account alone and the reasons why; (3) they remain unresponsive to any reports I send.

The Fae, I have a paid account and I'm still sorting the problem out, this is the message I have sent to Hushmail.

I'm still having problems in sending e-mails.
Do not get a sign at top of page to say "Sent" and have no record in my sent items list.
Have to try again and with luck everything goes through.
Strangely some e-mails sent, I have no problems.

Well hushmail came back to me, the scammer is having the e-mails I send to him blocked, at his end, he seems to have done this without realising it. Laughing

Don't know why but I just had a feeling and ran a Malware scan, found in heuristics last on the list this worm, PUP.Optional.wedownloadmanager.a.

I'm running Malwarebytes Anti-malware premium and so glad I did have also found that my web pages are loading faster.
