I had a thread on here and it looks like it was deleted. That's dirty pool. Can't they at least notify people when they do that?

It is only as unpleasant as you make it, 'Zilla, and really doesn't need to be. I have apologized for not sending the PM, but will only do so once.

The thread was moved, SW is a sister site and staff have access to both, so the lad(s) will be effectively removed.

We try to keep things fair on the board, as your mentor will tell you.

If you wish to keep posting about this, by all means, do so. I won't lock this thread.

Be fair to Scamzilla, it can take a while to understand how Eater works.

Especially if it is something that you feel is vitally important, and perhaps not realising how many times we have seen the same thing

Remember that the Mods have a real life as well, well, I'm not sure about Roy Cropper though, but some of them as TS pointed out, have to juggle a lot of things, and sometimes communications get missed.

It's ok folks, don't worry about the "noob," as though I'm not right here. I was per-warned that the Mods have a God complex going on. And if policing this part of the internet makes them feel important, who am I to take that away? Oh, yeah I'm the "noob." Like new people aren't really people at all. Just creature to look down on with pity. I just looked in the mirror and I like what I see. Can you all say the same? Let the snarky, sarcastic and heartless comments start.......Now!

Sorry, you seem to have a problem, we've all been the noob in here, if you feel slighted, I apologise.

I've had warnings, suspensions etc in my time here, before I worked out how eater works.

It takes some time, we're not gung ho over the top and at their throats. Slowly slowly works best in the experience of everyone here

Settle back and read around. No one here is attacking you, no one here is mocking or making fun of you.

Ask a question, you will get an answer, after it is answered though, we're always looking for ways to get some relief from dealing with lads. And our sense of humour may jar with your sensibilities.

After a while, you will realise why we have a macabre sense of fun.

As you feel so slighted from my previous post, I've edited it.

I am not looking to make enemies with anyone but the lads. I really like it here. I have met a lot of really nice people. But poor communications have started much worse things in life then a back and forth on an internet forum. We need to have proper communication. Doing stuff like that on here without giving someone a heads up leads to bad attitudes, like mine right now. I'll get over it. And I will continue my learning and work. And if you edited your post, that makes mine pointless, so I will just delete that and everyone can be confused. Laughing

Do you know what I do? I herd cats. It's also known as "teach in junior high". While I love what I do, I admit the perks in my profession are few and far between. But one of them is developing an eye for situations: it's my job to observe individuals and group dynamics. That's what teaching is based on. And from observing for a while now, I see you playing exactly the same game as many of my teens do.

Zilla, I don't know what your game is exactly or what you are aiming for. I have my theories, but there is no point in writing them here. I don't know you well enough, but don't think a professional wouldn't recognize it being played when I see it. And it's getting old quickly. I can tell you it won't work here any better than in a classroom. No one here has ever in any way attacked you. Ever. You have been given everything you have asked for and people have been nice to you. Yet you constantly act as if we had been hostile to you.

So here is your justification. Here is Unca Duck being hostile to you. Do you see the difference?

And for what it's worth, I fully accept any repercussions from the staff that this post may bring. But it needs to be said. This has gone on for long enough now.

I like you duck, you have a good head on your shoulders. I am truly sorry I came across that way. I shouldn't be so quick to play the victim, you are right. I have just been a victim of RL bullying and physical abuse. But it is time that stopped. I need to be more assertive and internalize more than I externalize. I greatly appreciate all you have done for me. Thank you very much!

What Irish is getting at is actually a very common eater thing from my experience. It can take people a while to 'get it.' When I first came here it took me a while to get things under control. Most of it was private correspondence and it will stay that way as it was not my best days. I even left at one point in getting used to it. Granted I left on what I would consider respectful terms, but I had my own ideas of how things should be done. I came back after 'getting it.' I figured out that there is a method to the madness. Take your time to settle in. There is no rush and all in all this place is actually fairly relaxed.

As for internalizing, do so especially if you just came out of a traumatic situation like you mention. Consider before acting and take all the time you need to do so. There is no rush. That is partially how I left on some respectful terms (albeit hard headed terms though) only to return after figuring it out. I've been through enough trauma and counseling to know that sometimes it is better to step back and consider before acting.

Internalize and if you got out of a recently traumatic situation consider getting some help. The sooner the better too. Internalizing to the point of burying and bottling it up is never a good thing as it always comes back 10X as hard when it does hit again.

ETA: The mods have a life too. As far as I know the only form of payment they get is a crack of the whip from the squirrel. We are all volunteers here, including them.

My trauma happened, almost, every day I went so school. 12 Years. Mostly from students, sometimes in a public way by mean spirited teacher. I was the only fat kid in the school and quickly became a running joke, with the teachers as well. Needless to say it was a relief to get out of there. I have talked to people, but counselors are pricy where I live and my insurance doesn't cover it. I have some supportive friends and co-workers. I guess I can call what Duckling gave me a session. How much do I owe you Duck? Laughing
