I haven't been around in awhile because back in early April, I had a house fire. No one was hurt, pets are safe, insurance is paying the entire tab, but the entire ground floor, including appliances, TV. stereo, furniture, beds and computers, plus clothing and alot of personal items were destroyed (mostly by smoke and water) So after more than 10 weeks of motel living and fast food, my house was turned back over to me earlier this week.

Obviously, lads were the furthest thing from my mind. But as I settle back in, I am looking forward to torturing some lads once again. Unfortunately, most of my ongoing baits are likely dead in the water. Good thing there are so many more to chose from

Welcome back, thankfully all you lost were things, not lives.

You'll be surprised at what the lads will accept as excuses, don't be surprised when you write back, explaining you had a total house fire, and the lad replies " Sorry to hear about the fire, send the money so we can progress forward with this transaction"

Glad everything is getting back to normal after all that crap. I was in a similar situation 20 years ago.

Lads are Pets too. Hopefully they are still wanting your money. You can even use the fire as an excuse for not writing them. Of course you need the money more than ever because of the event.

I sometimes use Real Life Events in my baits as reasons for not contacting my Knuckleheads. (Hit Shappens)

Glad to see you made it out all alive, but sorry to hear about the fire. As for the lads, they age like fine wine. Think of this like letting them sit and stew for a while when you just got to the point where you were supposed to make that payment.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and advice. I've poked a few lads to see if they're still around, plus my baiter inbox was full, so (un) fortunately there are plenty of lads to pick from.
