I am a big fan of Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden books and lurk on his forum, a lot.
I'm intrigued that an ongoing discussion about whether or not a main character is evil has not only lasted for six some odd pages, but that it has mostly stayed on topic. |

I couldn't find the thread that you are referring to, it was probably deleted by the forum Stasi for containing big words that they didn't understand.
The perceived evilness of the main character in the book is a clever ploy by the author to keep the reader on their toes and it isn't until page 419 when he rescues the fluffy kittens from the burning house that his real nature is revealed. His untimely death on the last page whilst helping the old lady across the road is a master-stroke that few see coming, although clues are littered throughout the book.
Please try to keep to words of less than 2 syllables in your replies otherwhise this thread will probably be removed as well. |
