I've been trading emails with "Yana" a Russian girl who assumes she found me on a dating website, even though I'm not on one. Tricky! Anyway, he sends these LONG emails with romantic crap and pictures and when I respond he just sends another long email back, that has nothing to do with what I wrote. I'm not sure how to get him off script. He hasn't asked for money yet so I'm sure the conversation will change then, but how do I get him to take note that we are not actually having a conversation?

Included in his email today:
Forgive if has passed yours a question, I will try to answer them, it is connected with work sometimes and I am forgotten.

But then he didn't address any of them.

My response today:
You said you would answer my questions, but you didn't. I have asked them three times. I think maybe you do not care for me as I care for you.

Any ideas if this didn't work? Does this mean their English isn't good enough to understand my questions, or are they just lazy??

!00% how it works with vlads. they are very rigid and script oriented until you threaten to bolt. You handled it right-question whether "she" (aka Fat Boris) is really serious about finding love if she isn't answering your questions. Gee, it's almost like she isn't even reading your mails!

Fat Boris is very verbose and seems to forget there is another person in the conversation. You did everything perfectly!

Thanks for the welcome! He is certainly long-winded and makes little sense, but I've read the forums and am resisting the urge to correct him on anything. But not even reading my emails - that's just plain insulting!

Are you calling him Fat Boris as a generic term for anyone working the Russian romance scam, or is this someone in particular you are familiar with?

I have found NOT correcting them is the hardest part of baiting. It helps, for me, to type out everything I really want to say to him just to get it off my chest. Then take a deep breath and continue on with lying to him. Laughing

Fat Boris is a general term . Probably not very politically correct, but vlads, like lads, are always male and using a Russian name Boris just kind of fits. He's probably fat, too (because he's lazy, not because he's Russian)but that's just a minor point.(because there is really nothing wrong with being fat, I don't judge people on their weight) Wink

NP, Fat Boris is a term Russians use for vlad scammers or Fat Yuri-there's a translated news story from years ago that mentioned that victims think they are talking to Hot Anastasia or Elena but are actually emailing Fat Boris. the term just kind of stuck.

Fat Boris was not at all bothered by my email about not answering my questions. I just got a long email thanking me for mine, and talking about all the feelings he has reading it. ? Hmm.

He also wants to travel - surprise!

I'm convinced at this point I could just type any words at all in an email and Fat Boris would reply with an outpouring of love for me. He isn't thrown by all my cats at least. What a relief!

What I got back of course mentions nothing of the cats. But it does bring up traveling.

So is my only option to keep this up until he/she runs out of things to copy and paste?? It's boring, but I feel like he/she is at least hinting at the financial request now. Then I hope to get them off script and maybe get some piggies out of it. Not sure what else to plan for lovely Yana.

Nope. You may want to try this-in your first couple sentances start getting suspicious that she never answers your questions and that perhaps meeting should wait on getting to know each other better.

He may twigg-but I think you may get an off script response and wake him up. Up until now he hasn't had to read your responses closely.

Shock horror! German website http://antiscam.de revealed that the German community was reeling from my vlad's trickery. The sting was that each victim was scammed for between EUR 150-450 as soon as they phoned vlad's Russian mobile phone.

Vlad had sent identical messages in German to those I received in English. Plenty of mediocre photos. Germans upset to see vlad's cat.
Got a bit touchy when I started translating my dialogue into Russian.

One minute it was great. Next minute it wasn't as the next title message "pom pom pi dou" translated as Slovakian. From that point onward vlad wanted to discuss everything by phone.

My advice would be to be very wary of evasiveness. Best to press your ejector seat button especially if vlad demands your mobile phone number.

Nothing seen yet on any UK database.

There's been no request for a phone number and she hasn't given me one to call. I sent an email that just said "I feel you are not even reading my emails. You haven't answered any of my questions." Nothing more.

She responded with two long emails about how much she loves me and wants to visit, with some hints at how much money that would cost.

Sigh. Still not reading.

I wouldn't be unduly concerned with the above. Keep pushing even if you have to say "Well. no money unless I know you better". Put it in the first paragraph-a high probability it will actually get noticed.

If you look at all the other vlad baits, the off script starts after the money shot. The trick is to condition money on a response to questions, or even a phone.

My past two emails to this vlad have been "I get the feeling you are not even reading my emails. Why have you not answered any of my questions?" but of course he is not bothered by that and keeps on with the script. Finally, we have a direct ask for money. But I also enjoyed some other phrases in here. I have bolded my favorites.

This guy really doesn't read. I decided to talk money, since I'm thinking USD is something that might catch his eye. I told him I could send the money and even offered more than his ask...on one condition:

Do you really like me? I am worried that you are just after money since this is the third time you've mentioned it. I do have plenty of money to share with the right woman, but I want to make sure that you are THE ONE. If you really love me and are not scamming me, please send me a picture of you in a yellow dress holding a sign that says "I love you John". This will prove to me you are really in love with me. This is the first time he hasn't responded to an email within 24 hours. Did I ask too much? If I lost him, I'll know to go more slowly. I was just so bored with all the words - and even the emails that said just "I fear you're not reading my emails" got the same boring responses. zzzzzz.

Maybe or maybe not. the thread in Eater U about baiting vlads for photos is kind of out of date-getting trophies from them is much, much harder than it used to be. And vlads typically are smarter and more suspicious than lads. You may want to give it a couple days them poke him with an "I'm so worried about you, are you ok".

I tried a couple of "are you okay? I haven't heard from you" messages and nothing.

Did I do the wrong thing asking for a specific picture? I just got fed up with the stock replies.

Any words of advice for the next one? I will probably try another love lad. It's fun.

Sometimes they just go away and come back later. Always keep your options open. Pick up another lad/vlad and have some fun! You did a great job so don't be hard on yourself. For all we know his internet is down and can't get online.

Don't worry about trophies for now, just concentrate on your character and wasting their time. Trophies are nice, but you usually don't get those until you have him entirely hooked and have developed a trusting relationship. Wasting his time and getting his bank accounts shut down is the best thing you can do, when he's busy with you he's not using that time on a real victim. If you have him for a few months then you can ask for a trophy of some sort. Until then, have fun wasting his time and growing your sty. Razz

Trophy pics from a vlad are hard to come by. the thread in Eater U on the subject is outdated-Boris no longer co-operates.

You did fine-wasted his time. Next time you may want to shoot for a bank account-money always gets them off script.
