Justcold already posted in HH&T that Monday is Memorial Day in the U.S. and banks are closed.

Agreed. A mention is due to the people of Wooton Basset for showing a positive and united front to the otherwise deeply unhappy homecomings of fallen servicemen- one of support, gratitude and deep respect. I think President Harrison would concur.

This was written about the first Anzacs, but I think it applies to all soldiers.

Speaking of the RAF. Applies across the board/pond as so many men of valor have fallen victim to the preservation of the freedom we all enjoy, including to domestic imports/expats like me who enjoy the freedom of the USA.

God bless the troops.... those alive, those fallen, and those not with us any more. As with any day like tomorrow I will be on the BBQ and troops who have sacrificed so much for my freedom come to the front of the line. Cold ones will be in the ice box.

I spent the day Sunday at Arlington. The changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown can move one to tears. At least it did me.
