| FLY REAL AIR COMBAT IN REAL AIRCRAFT in real airplanes - just like in the movies. No pilot's license required and you actually fly the plane. Our Top Dog Air Combat puts you at the controls of a real aircraft in mock aerial combat. This is hands-on, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping dog fighting. You'll fly a Varga VG-21. Under the watchful eye of our pilot, you'll do most of the flying. It's not virtual reality, it's real reality. Everything's real but the bullets. No pilot's license required, just guts! Go ahead, make an ace of yourself! Not for the weak of stomach! |

Two planes go up, @ 5000 ft.over the ocean, let the games begin..
The pilot leaves you alone unless you're about to crash..
Too much fun.. |

Very nice.
Did you perform an overhead break or section landing as described on that page you linked to? The reason I as is that I have no idea what a section landing is. Did you guys land together in formation when you landed? Most American airports require 2600 ft flight separation and will not issue multiple clearances to land except to air combat operations. |

@ Connie
No, the active military will do that, but not so common in private airports.
Flying back from Dallas Love field, two A-10 Warthogs were in tandem pattern landing there in Tucson.
We had to move over as they DNGAF about private..
Fun trip though.. |

I got to fly backseat in an F16 once when I was still in the AF. Combat takeoff, broke the sound barrier and everything. Besides takeoff and landing I had control of the aircraft the majority of the time. And I only threw up 3 times. Totally worth it!! |

@WillEater- My FAA examiner cut the power directly above an uncontrolled airport right after my demonstration of an unusual attitude recovery. I started talking to a mechanic in a hanger on the UNICOM frequency and circled down. I worked out the math and had figured that two more circles would have made for a perfect landing. The flight examiner said that if he were at the controls he would perform an overhead break-right now. So I did and ended up 750 feet too high and about 500 feet from the end of the runway and had to perform a slip. I remember holding 60 KNTS when the book said that a slip was to be flown at 60KNTS +0KNTS, -5KNTS. If I ever had to do that again I would fly it at 57.5KNTS and not risk getting failed for busting a hard speed limit. The FAA examiner kept his head directly above my lap during the entire slip, just staring at the speed indicator. The overhead break is not a required maneuver but if I ever have to make a dead stick landing I would use it.
I was flying a fixed wing in formation with a helicopter after a photo shoot headed to an uncontrolled airport. The Robinson R22 I was with was to land on a taxiway and taxi hover to the fuel pump and I was going right at the runway. We were on short final and someone in a Texan says he has over 500 horsepower is about to turn final and tells us to get out his way. I have never seen a helicopter make a faster 90 degree turn. I had no idea where the Texan was so I just killed the flaps, aborted the landing and applied full power. I got on the radio and said that my landing speed with no tail would be a lot slower than something with 500 horsepower and no tail. Later at the airport the guy in the Texan had to wait for us to clear the fuel pumps. I pulled the cowlings off and then called my buddy over to discuss the colors of the ignition wires. After replacing the cowlings I still had to dip the tanks and then check for contaminates in the fuel. Later on someone told me that because he had to go pee we beat him to the pumps even after taking a lap around the airport.
@ GTmama
I gave a whole bunch of flights to a person that was headed to primary flight school in the AF. I was hoping for a back seat ride in a F16 one day but the person dropped out. |
