Some questions about romance baiting

Since I'm involved in a handful of these romance baits right now, I figured I'd ask a few things I was curious about:

1. Has anyone tried a same sex couple bait? How did that work out? I haven't read any like this yet but I'm sure someone has done it...

2. I was talking to my mentor and he suggested potentially turning a straight bait involving a teen girl character of mine into a romance bait down the line via Skype/other IM service. It seems like an idea worth pursuing if I ever get the right lad for it. Has anyone had experience turning baits that initially were traditional 419 format scams into a romance bait? Any tips or advice you can offer?

Personally I would avoid a teenage character in a romance bait, given the pedophilia aspects. It certainly isn't something we would want or allow to pubished on or connected with Eater.

There are tons of other ways to mess with your lad as a teen without going there.

Ah, didn't even think of the implications. I'll avoid going that route then.

If anyone has some tips to offer about turning straight baits into romance ones though, I'd still be interested in using them with a different character.

What I do is show an utter disinterest in their "business proposal", while telling them how lonely I get, and start asking things like "You sound cute! Are you good looking?"

It's usually enough for them to see the light and change to a romance scam

As for gay scams, they'll go down that route if they think there's cash in it. Accuse them of being gay though and expect a good rant! Smile

Hi Kuromaku,
Next Victim has a number of same sex baits with his character Anita. Check those out.

You can avoid the teenager problem by making your character a ditzy 20 something. Ask the lad if he's married, tell him there's something about his email that makes you think he's hot, etc.

If you want a teenage romance bait, don't go younger than 18, otherwise it's just creepy. Remember being 18? Remember how fast you fell in love and you knew it was going to be FOREVER and EVER? Go with that. Just out of High School you know everything, not to mention you fall in love faster than a lad.

In OrangeCat's first Romance Bait Claire is a hoot! Claire is 13, but you can get a good idea of how to use a teenager in your romance baits. OC's bait is one of the best, teenage included, baits here in the love shack. Evil Lol

I ‘love’ doing that! To some extent it do it to most Senegalese refugee Baits and a few others just for fun but my favorite is my Bobby/Jenny Bait as it started out as a product Lad. That one is around 20 Months old now.

Another way to approach it is to have a Romance Bait turned into a Church Bait as Ginger is apt to do and GTmama’s classic PigMoney where a romance Scammer has been convinced he is a Rap star.

Anything is possible in this Fantasy World so if a Scammer has all the answers just change the questions!

Typically, I do not do romance baits, because it seems I get bored with it. However, I have turned other baits into romance baits and have had fun with those. OP mentioned the Pig$ bait and you can see some there.

Usually, I will send an email to a lad and then follow it up with an ASEM with a nice naked "selfie" attached. Like this:

For the same sex baits check out Ginger Lee's Beaver bait. She introduced a gay character about midway through. I have a transvestite bait going right now called Koko finds Lurve or something like that. The lad had one moment of 'you mean you're not a woman?' And then he was cool with it. I try to bring it up as often as possible. Smile

I've also done baits where I had a male character email one of my females and I would say sorry not interested but do you have a sister that might like girls? I've had a couple play along! The worms will do anything for a pay day.

I haven't tried turning any other kind of bait into a romo bait as those are all I really do anyway.

I've turned a straight 419 into a romance bait and got the scammer to "divorce" his wife so he could be with me.

The bait is in a long lost email account, but I do have some nice trophies from it.

I was surprised to see this bumped back up; everyone has had such interesting ideas and previous baits. I look forward to fully reading through them all and learning more ways to waste the time of the lads.
