Hello! I'm currently in correspondence with a contact via text messaging and e-mail. I'm new to this a seeking some advice...

Is it normal for there to be a great deal of correspondence before the $$ request? This has gone on for a while now and there was one serious point where I expected to be asked for financial support, but nothing? Could be something more is coming soon, but this has gone on now for more than three months!

I have no doubt this person is fake and 99% sure not female, but could it just be someone getting their jollies rather than a scammer for money?

Thoughts? I can post key parts of the correspondence if people are interested?

Yes, it is entirely possible with some scammers to delay as he wants you to be completely hooked. I can't say for sure if you are dealing with a scammer but if you could post some messages it would be helpful.

If you feel you are communicating with a scammer, drop all contact now if he has your real life information.

Welcome to the forum! Without any idea of the conversation so far between the two of you it is hard to say. Are you able to track the IP of the email address? Are you baiting safely? The latter being of more import.

There *are* two H@alifax's - one in the UK and another in Canada. She's got the wrong one initially, but is sharp enough to Google the Canada one and quickly select a more plausible location - New Glasgow *is* in Pictou County.

I do have an e-mail - nothing has popped from Google though. Nothing on her name either (was looking for scam with the same name or address). Her cell # does come back to a Houston area code - see next message....

Will look for a header in the e-mail and do as you suggest...

A couple of points here. There *is* a Richmond International airport, but it's in VA not Texas.... Flight time is about right though, from her stated departure point.

Richmond TX is basically a suburb of Houston, Pop ~10,000. Not likely to have more than a private landing strip, let alone an international airport. Slip there.

Curiously though, her cell # area code comes back to Houston?

Ex in Cuba? Also somewhat weird- why a location US citizen can't travel to (but Canadians can)?

Came back with numerous hits for 'Sandy Summers', a pornstar....

Hey Bluenose: First off, I never got a chance to say welcome, so welcome and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay!

Never correct these glaring errors the scammer makes, it helps to trigger suspicion if he has a real victim in his clutches. Just play along with it and even re-enforce his obvious errors.

I'd also advise you to drop the texting, if you have the email addy, simply send a message (from a fake email addy) saying you dropped your phone in the toilet and it will take 4-6 weeks for a replacement, or you are re-negotiating a new phone deal, or you lost it or anything like that, let your imagination run wild Smile

Looks like your doing great so far, and never hesitate to ask for advise or help, everyone here is always willing to lend a hand.

Actually Bluenose, drop him now. He has your personal information. You can bait him from another email address as the one you are using now, it's linked to you, and your real life info.

So, drop him
Create another new baiter addy
Go find some lads and give them lots and lots of pain!

Hi Bluenose and welcome! Please listen to the advise to drop this scammer who has your real life info. I came here after baiting with my real life info and there are lots of reasons to stop, your safety being first and foremost. I know I'm repeating what others have said but I understand, hard to give up one on the hook but you will find there are plenty others to get. If you're really concerned, pass him along to someone else to keep him occupied while you get your baiter profile set up.
