Scams aimed at lawyers and real estate agents

I have been responding to scammers for years, but my responses have been so outlandish that even scammers don't think I'm real. Recently, however, I've stumbled into scambaiting. I wish I had found this site before I started.

I have been dealing with scams aimed at professionals, particularly lawyers. I have several fake checks from those transactions, and usually that is as far as I ever wanted to go. I've set up a website and email address for a law firm to handle international debt collection transactions.

It is amazing but apparently lawyers have been scammed out of millions of dollars with these scams.

I have a few advantages in dealing with this particular kind of scam. I write passable legalese and passable French. (for some reason, a lot of these scams seem to come from Canada).

I'm really a noob based on what I've learned here in the past weeks.
Thoughts or advice?

Welcome! You're in good company. I know of at least two other lawyers who are members here.

I suggest signing up for a mentor and reading the threads in Eater University. This is a great site with lots of friendly people, so I think you'll have a great time Very Happy
