The players thus far:

Will - romance boi, not terribly bright, loves his scripts

Ed - romance guyman supervising Will, fairly sharp for a lad, knows how to use Google and carry on a conversation

Roxy - 44-year-old three-time widow, very wealthy, owns 12 cats, afflicted with a number of mental illnesses which the lads will discover over time, weighs 450 pounds and uses a scooter to move around (the lads don't know this yet either)

Background: Will, a US general looking for love on FishMeetFish, contacts Roxy and instantly falls for her. He mentions some friends with mad skillz investing in gold and oil in Ghana. Roxy is interested because she has 2 million to invest, and her financial adviser wants her to invest it to China. Roxy doesn't like China because they aren't good Christians.

2 million? As in DOLLARS? Will is terribly interested in helping Roxy invest in Ghana. What a kind gentleman! Roxy puts him in touch with her financial adviser to work out the details, but Will is afraid to talk to the adviser and possibly give himself away. After much whining to Roxy--"what should i say to him???"--he sends a terrified email to Mr. Lynch:

How humiliating. It's obvious to the lad team that such a pathetic ploy will only warn the rich maga's financial adviser. I picture Will's oga slapping him aside the head and shoving him away from the computer to perform damage control.

Enter Ed. He contacts Roxy from a second account and spends considerable time convincing her that Will is a scammer (link goes behind the log-in because content is sensitive and Google-able).

At first, Roxy doesn't believe him. Will's such a kind man, so helpful! Then, slowly and with many tears, she comes around to Ed's side and realizes he's saved her from a "horible scamer." Friendship (not love! Roxy believes love takes time) blossoms.

Ed-Will (the dumber version of Ed) is trying to set up the web cam he bought just special to talk to Roxy. I was all prepared to have everything go wrong on my end, but he can't even get it to work. Laughing

The lad's been baiting himself for close to an hour now. I've been browsing the forum and dropping him the occasional "dont worry youll get it!" motivation.

UPDATE: And that takes care of today's chat. *brushes hands together* He finally got the webcam working, but Roxy's version of Yahoo Messenger didn't support cam chats. After 45 minutes of trying to download the right file, we'd reached 7%!

In the meantime, Ed-Will asked Roxy to Google "webcam" so she could see what one looked like....

Yes, it brought up just the kinds of ads you're thinking it did. Roxy is offended and furious at the lad for exposing her to such smut! The lad's going to have to do some serious groveling to make this better. I can't imagine what he's going to tell Ed-Ed (the smarter lad) when he checks in.
